Nation Signature Closers
Looked at some of the comments..... they seem like a pretty good company and agree to my fees. However, I received in my email quite an extensive file asking for 1) $25 2) copy of my driver's license, social security card, etc 3) test 4) form to allow an extensive background check and credit check. Has anyone done any of this? I don't use my social sec number, I use a tin. I have no problem with the W-9, but am not looking kindly on the rest of this. Any comments?

They want you to pay $25.00 for the privilege to work for them? I would Never pay to work for any SS. But sadly there probably are many desperate NSA grads from a certain organization that are paying the fee.. so somebody is making $$$$ and on it goes...

That sounds more like National Loan Closers. I've done closings for NSC for many years and was never asked for those things. There's no way I would provide any of those.

NSC is a local company and the signing agent they use told me that they were now charging signing agents $25 to provide assignments. Even though he has been their chosen agent for a long time, he paid the fee. I can't imagine paying to get work. And, I wouldn't provide the other things either. It's a moot point since I won't work for the low fees they offer.

They aren't asking for your blood type?
My thoughts: W9 = OK Their test = OK BGC = Maybe. If you want to, but I would not submit to one via any "one" SS company. And after the mess with XYZ, they will not get my money for one either. JMO DL = Only with sensitive info blacked out SS = No, not in your case
$25 = No way! I don't pay any SS company to place my name on their roster. They do not guarantee any signings. Basically they want you to pay to advertise (place your name on their roster) to one company. Not to mention it is just another stream of income for them. When I find a SS willing to guarantee me $150-200 per signing, x number of loans per month, and pay True Net 30 then I'll pay $25 to "sign up" with them.

Agree with Moneyman, and one more thing...
if they have a closing in your area and no notaries on their 'preferred' list, they will call you regardless of whether or not you have any of that stuff. It depends on how saturated your area is, whether that will be the case.
You can practically guarantee that any co. that requires a sign up fee and all that documentation will have the PITA factor to go along with any work they may give you. JMO
