Quickbooks Pro - purge old data

Is there a way to purge old data onto a disk? I'm going back 7 years now and was wondering if I could purge some of the older data and just save it to a disk. My backups are taking forever now.

Yes you can. Do a Google search for "quickbooks pro archiving data" and look at the information on the Intuit site.
