inverter question i need help!!!!
can some one tell me what they are using to print from car. I have a brother 2170w printer and i need to know what type of inverter some one is using. I am getting all kinds of different stories. Some one says 1000 watt pure sine. with a 100 amp fuse. another person says 2000 watt inverter. they said laser printer will not work with a modified inverter. is anyone using a modified inverter?

I just checked the orange search button and
there is more good info there than I could ever post about inverters.

Re: I just checked the orange search button and
It has been discussed many times. I would have to look it up, but I think I will let you have that joyous experience.

I'm using a 1000 watt modified inverter in my car to print docs.. I have a brother 2170w printer and a HP laser that I sometimes use. You do not need to have your inverter to be a pure sine..... Mine has worked fine for the last 3 years...... Mine is hard wired to the car battery and I'm using a 60 amp fuse. If you want to use a 2000 watt pure sine inverter you can. Laser printers WILL work with a modified inverter. Make sure you keep the car running when you print docs... My inverter powers my laptop and my printer... Some people will say that a modified inverter will damage laptop and printer... I have had no problem....

Flying J Truckstops...big inverter deals
If you're lucky enough to be by a Flying J Truckstop when they come through and change out their stores, you can get some really good deals there. Flying J got bought out by somebody, and they're redoing their stores and dumping some inventory...all different kinds of stuff. Saw a 3000 watt inverter for $199 here and a 1000 watt one for $59.
Not sure where all their locations are, but just thought I'd pass it on. I stop by Flying J regularly as there's a Wendy's there and they often have some kind of bargain I want. Historically, when they mark stuff down it's about 60-75% off. Just a FYI.

Flying J merged with Pilot Travel Centers
Both companies were in trouble financially, but the merger of the two, approved by the courts, may be keeping them out of bankruptcy. Read the press release http://tinyurl.com/28gpv2p if you're interested.

Just buy an ice cream truck with a generator on the back :)
With the fees title companies and signing services are paying these days, you could make some extra cash selling ice cream from your truck. Who knows how many contacts you might make, just give all the kids a free business card with their purchase. It's like a mobile UPS Store! lol
I have some contacts for power inverters. I know there's also some good deals on ebay. Just look at the rating on the printer (xxxx Watts) and get a power inverter at least 10% stronger than that. You don't want to keep maxing out its' capacity or you'll blow it. Are you wiring the inverter directly in your vehicle, or using jumper cables to power it? Any good car stereo shop can wire your car for an inverter.
