Deposition Question

Typically I stick to signings only and don't do much in the way of other notorial work.

I recieved a call today from a women who is representing a client in my city (she lives out of state). She is asking if I am willing to swear in a person for a deposition next week.I did read my handbook but I am just looking for some input from people who have actually done this, what to expect and such.

Thanks!

I've done this several times. You only need to be there to

put them under oath. I always suggest getting your fee issues cleared up before the proceeding, so that you can just excuse yourself after swearing them in. Does the NH handbook have anything on administering oaths?

Yes, my handbook actually has the correct verbage to use. I am nervous but excited to do something different to me.
Thanks!
