I have searched high and low ...
and I have used 411.com, anywho.com and many others and they work fine as long as it's a number that would be in the regular local phone book. After that, they all seem to link you to a service that will give you the desired information, but for a price.
I assume that you want one that works better than the boiler plate sites, and I haven't found it .......
This one does combine all the services ...

Report on telephone number searches
For anyone else who is interested, I checked all the proposed searches. The most effective one I found was simply to google the number. That seems to work regardless the party has an extensive web presence, as I do, or virtually no web footprint at all, as does my daughter.
