Excel Spreadsheet to track signings/mileage, etc. - Anyone?
Does anyone have a spreadsheet that they have created or use to track all information concerning their signings (client/borrower/fees/etc.) that they would be willing to share with me. My daughter has recently started to do signings in NY and has gotten to the point where she needs to keep track in a more organized manner. I used to have a spreadsheet but it "got lost" when I upgraded my computer. I have since purchased a software program for that purpose.
Anyhow, I would greatly appreciate it if anyone has one and would share it.
Thanks, Barbara

I use an excel spreadsheet and also Quickbooks, but I find it very easy to see an entire month at a glance which is why I do both.
On my spreadsheet I have at the top the following:
Date Borrower (I use last name only) City Company (who hired me) Title Co. Lender Fee Amt Pd Date Pd Miles Type (Refi, Purchase etc)
Pretty basic.

Agree with Linda and would also
include the number of pages in the document package and caller's name.
As she stated it is pretty basic, however we all have different needs and objectives in this business. Consequently, I would suggest determining what type of data will best suit your business needs.

Speaking of which - how about a mileage log only?
I've been using a Franklin planner forever and I write my actual mileage at each stopping point as I go, which I've been told is the best proof of mileage. However, I'm going to finally take the plunge and get a Blackberry very soon, but I'm not clear on how to replace the the mileage tracking convenience of the Franklin.
Do any of you BB experts know of a BB app or some other tool that you particularly like for tracking all the info needed for documenting not only starting and ending mileage - with multiple stops - but business purpose, name of party, etc.? The key thing here is that it's something that goes with me wherever I go, so an app would be perfect. If not that, a straightforward mileage log with all the needed info that I can keep in my car would be my next choice. I've tried to make one up for myself, but haven't been able to come up with something that I've been happy with. I do have my own spreadsheet for all other monthly data (including mileage) for bus accounting, but that's not practical for day-to-day.
Thanks, all!
