I had an offer come to me. ( JPM )

The offer was to have 50, yes 50 notaries at the office for 8 hrs a day for 2 days and sign 25 to 30 affirmations per person for 150 people.

I told them that I had my doubts about finding 50 notaries in the city they wanted all in one day without paying them at leat $250.00 per day per notary.

Yuck! I don't think I could be persuaded to do it...

That sounds like 2000+ notarizations per day. The hourly rate wouldn't be too bad I guess, but I can make the same on two signings, but with only about 5-6 hours of work, 30 notarizations, and not be stuck in an office all day. I'm just sayin.

I know a notary who was just contacted

by a lender representative asking if a QC deed from several months ago can be notarized with the old date - the original notarized document has been lost.

Exactly where, Tony? And isn't JPM one of the lenders in hot water for running a "foreclosure mill"?

While $250 a day is not a stunning offer, I don't think

it's horrible, either. If the gig is local, and no printing, I think there would be merit to this job...assuming, of course, the notary is not experiencing high volume routinely.

I don't see the problem with $250 for a day in an office. You can make interesting contacts in those venues.

Just my thoughts. Please don't shoot...and, if you do, please aim higher.

Re: Is it my math, or is that only 3 people per notary total

That’s up to 90 affirmations total and would not be two days worth of work per notary. Why not 20 notaries instead?

I am thinking this is a mass correction on the notarizations for the forclosures???

The notary will most likely have to wait while each affidavit is read by the signer and then signed.

Hi, Tony, Yeppers, I'm with you - and $250 doesn't even

bring up my enthusiasm to a blink.

There's a thread recently that sounds like the same traveling circus, talking all about it.

As my ol' man used to say, "If I were you, I wouldn't pet that dog."

Cheers, dears!

$31.25 an hour ....hmm. me thinks I do it...if I weren't

too busy, was only for 1 day, and I got paid upfront via PP. Sure no problem. Wink
