Notary Direct

Notary Direct just contacted me and wanted me to do an assignment for $30.00. They have a low rating on SC, so I told them that If they paid my fee and paid me in advance, I would do it. I don't get it. Why are these low pay, no pay companys still in business?

They were probably just testing the waters...let us know when they call you back?

They sure test the water a lot. I raised my fee too much for them, so I don't expect them to call me back but if they do, I will post.

I think they are just playing games with the notaries. First of all you don't say what kind of a job it was offered you, I had an offer the other day for 25 dollars to sign a QCD, somebody else took it. Hey all the notaries in my
area can have the ND offer of 30 dollars, they will be out of business in 3 months or less, when I say they are playing games is that they offer you 30 dollars now, so in the future when they offer you their ridiculous fee of
85 dollars for an edoc signing will sound very attractive. I quit doing their loans 5 years ago, and it's funny that all these low life SS only calls newbies and I think ALL their work is done by newbies, I am not a loan officer but will not accept that my loans will be done with a SS that hires only notaries for a very small fee and with very little experience or knowledge. A signing agent with no experience can be a deal breaker in a whole loan process.

The above comments are just my opinion.

I don't see how a notary can stay in business by accepting such a low fee. It's a head scratcher.

Yep, you're right. They emailed me and said someone accepted it. Evidently there is a notary in my area who will do it for the lowballers. Sad. This notary must not be aware of SC and their bad reputation. At this rate, we will never get rid of the bad companys.

They called me as well, I told them that the fee was to low, and that I could not go out for that small amount. I guess some of these S/S don't mind if we work for free. I wonder if they would go out and spend their gas, time, and expertise for that amount of money? I would bet not.

Yep, got such a call as well. I was so taken back that I was speechless for a time, and that doesn't happen a lot. I told them "Congratulations, that is the lowest I have ever been offered for a closing."

The reply "If you don't take it, someone will."

That probably was the sad truth. Someone probably did.

Just a thought...Re: Notary Direct

Because they 'offered' X$ to you, does not mean that is what they really paid someone.
Quite possibly--probably even--that after getting X number of rejections, they just take the next notary's quoted amount. For example, nobody takes what's offered and a half dozen people say $125. Do you really think they'd call the first person back? No, they'd just say OK... leaving 5 people thinking somebody took it for $30 and one notary knowing they just got $125.

...they're still in business because they get away with it!

The newbies that don't know any better gobble that pitiful fee for the sake of gaining more 'experience'...

And the low ball nsa agree to these fees because they have NO self-respect or self-worth, and go by the motto, 'derrr, sum money is better than no money'...

Its sickening....

It would be interesting to know who the tc & lender are, and

be able to contact those companies about the ridiculous fees being offered to do a "professional job". I'm tired of people thinking this is a "do you want fries with that" kind of job. LOL

I'm sure the TC & Lender really do not care how much they

are charging...so long as their loan closes...its all about THEIR bottom line, not the SS or even ours...but I agree, it would be interesting to see which lender and TC are working with them!

I'm sure you're right Cari, but you can imagine what they're

going to have to deal with for the low fees they're paying (mistakes, mistakes, mistakes).
It's that kind of thing that makes us all look bad.

You get what you paid for! It burns me to know people are taking these fees! I would like to get the inside scoop from these TC and Lenders and SS to see what kind of reactions they have to this! Anyone have inside info? Are they laughing at these notaries and slapping each others back? Im sure they have a lot of headaches post closing!

I got a call from them last week, it was a car loan, 45 pages for $30, I thought that that was low. I print my docs at Kinkos and have to pay the rate, never heard of the car loans before, is that a new one?
