SPEEDY CLOSING AND WORK I HAVE DONE FOR THEM

I don't go here often however I was updating some of my own info today and thought I would check out what the Notary Talk section was all about.

I have been a member of Notary Rotary for several years over 6 or 7 yrs. I have been a Notary since 1985.

I have done more signings than I can count and worked for more closing companies than I can remember.

I can say this about Speedy Closing I have done work for Frank and Ron for several years and I can HONESTLY say that I have always been treated fairly.

If I need to get a little more money for a closing because of distance or special circumstance Frank always tries to get it for me.

I had a company Document Assistance in California that gave me a bad check for several hundred dollars a few years back Oneida was my main contact. After the run around she gave me and the issues Document Assistance caused me believe you me I check out payment terms up front before I do business with anyone. Plus I try to find out if they are a good company.

Document Assistance just disappeared into thin air. :-(

I have to tell you Speedy has been a great customer of mine for several years and I appreciate the business they send my way.

I have to say that back in the day when the business was moving like crazy most places were paying with in 1 - 2 weeks and you got a lot more for a closing than we do today.

I believe that will come back again however in the mean time I feel that any business is good business in these times.

Look at all of the people who have NO WORK.

If you don't like the payment terms then don't take the work it is that simple.

My feeling is if you are self employed you need to understand how businesses run in the real world.

I also have an Accounting & Tax Service so I understand business.

I have to say that I have at least 4 or 5 other signing companies that I have been doing business with in the past year and NOT one has paid in under 30 days some are even double that time frame.

However they do pay it is because they are waiting for their money is what they tell me and I believe it because, I have a sister in the mortgage business and she has told me that is the way it is right now.

No body in the industry likes it but it is a reality at this time of how the banks are controlling everything. :-(

The only exceptions have been when I deal with a Title company direct because they have better control over the funds.

So in my Book Speedy Closing is a GREAT company to do business with and if you don't want the business then don't accept the closing.

It is that simple you have the choice no one is holding a gun to your head. :-)

As I said I don't normally post a lot however in reading some of the posts it just struck me that people really need to remember the market and where it is and how dead it had been for the past few years and is now just coming back.

Like the rest of America be patient and remember WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND.

As Forest Gump would say and that is all I have to say about that.

The casinos love people like you guys

Myself, I prefer to play the odds, whether I'm at the slots or scheduling assignments. Five percent of the players win at the slots, that means 95 percent lose. Five percent of agents get paid or paid on time, that means 95 percent are left holding the smelly end of the stick. And with Speedy, the smelly end extends almost the entire length of the stick.

Consider yourself special. It is "special" people like you two who keep dirtbag signing agencies in business to take advantage of others.

Re: The casinos love people like you guys

As I said in my post I don't go on here often and that is true.

It is also true that no one holds a gun to your head to take a job.

If you don't like the company don't take the business however be professional and leave it at that.

I don't know how many of the people who post here live in a glass house that is so above the rest of the world to not have seen how the market has been recently in the past years.

Like I said there was a time when we all got paid faster and with much more money.

As my Mom always said if you can't stand the heat then don't go in the kitchen.

Meaning if you don't like the situation then don't get in it and move on and BTW if anyone out there knows of any signing company paying them in less than 30 days why not post that.

Just like the media people gravitate to the bad not the good.

Think about that.

The longer the distance from the company, the longer the time period. The last job I did for them it took me nearly 5 months to collect the principal. They still owe me the late charges, but they know that it's not financially feasible for me to sue them from California .... Just wrote it off and moved on .....

But if you like waiting 75 days for payment, well then, KUDOS to you

FL is closer than CA. Yours took 5 months? Mine took 12 months. How did you manage that?

Ok I see that a lot of people have said it took a bit to get paid.

Did any one ever not get paid?

And as I said how many people ever list a company that pays really quick.

In looking over the posts here I have not found one.

Is that because you don't want to share the wealth so to speak and are afraid other Notaries will contact that company for work.

Hmmm Just a thought.

Like I said I am not trying to protect Speedy I just find it strange how many people have said OK they may have taken a bit to pay HOWEVER I ALWAYS GOT PAID.

I have had my fair share of places that didn't pay probably the one that hurt the most was Document Assistance in Newport Ca.

Now that company paid me on average in 2 wks to 4 wks and I ended up with a worthless check for hundreds of dollars and they are gone.

I was doing business with Speedy at the same time and they are still around and still paying their bills.

Not always in 30 days but I have to say I don't think I ever had 75 days when an invoice has started to run late I call and Frank has always taken care of it.

So good luck to everyone Like I have said if you don't like Speedy that is fine that is your right it just means more business for people that do and I would suspect most of them do not spend a lot of time posting on this chat.

Which is why I don't usually and I will really think twice again as I have not seen but a couple of posts that were done in a professional manner.

God speed to you all

All due respect to you, Kenneth

1. It would be interesting to me to see what you would consider a professional post. I would think that working with the public, you would have developed a thicker skin.

2. They still owe me late fees from 2006 for not paying for 5 months.

3. This is not the only forum that negative information is posted, including a lot of non-paying info on the 'numbers' forum.

4. You say that you don't make it here often, more correctly, probably never before as you have only made one post prior to this thread which makes the timing of your post supporting a signing service that has a poor payment record on every notary forum I read highly suspect. Now that may not be your intention, but that's how you come across. Every so often, there is a string of posts on this and other forums from previously or little unknown posters, not asking a valid question, but touting how wonderful this or that company is to work for when those companies have very poor payment records. Many times, several posters at the same time. Usually those people either work for the companies in question or were asked by the companies to post positive information. The posters on this forum have been around the block a few times and have a healthy suspicion of such posts. That is the feedback you are getting right now.

It was a while ago that I last did business with them. Perhaps they were "speedier" then.

Les all I am saying is if you don't want to work for some one then don't.

I am sorry you have had a bad experience there is not a person or company out there that has not done some one wrong at some time in their life.

I am not advocating for Speedy I am just saying be fair and they have treated me fair so why should I just jump on the band wagon of trying to put any one down.

And the professionalism of some of the people on this Notary Talk page reminds me of why I don't come her often.

People just need to remember how to be a professional and not throw out bad taste comments.

Like have said if you have something to say about someone good or bad just do it in a professional manner that is all.

I am not saying Speedy is the Best Company in the business but having worked for several they are far from the worst as some of you have portrayed.

Just please act professional is all I was asking.

Re: SPEEDY CLOSING AND THE SPIN YOU DO FOR THEM

***I am not advocating for Speedy I am just saying be fair and they have treated me fair so why should I just jump on the band wagon of trying to put any one down.***

I have a suggestion that should solve the problem of everyone else criticizing Speedy, and no one but you and Jane getting paid.

Why don't you and Jane tell Frank and Ron to take what they are paying you, and apply it to anyone who has not been paid or who is late being paid, and put you behind those people for payment? That way, the unpaid or the late-paid will be made whole, and if Speedy is the company you apparently think it is, then you too should get your checks in quick order. And then we can all come on NotRot and PRAISE SPEEDY CLOSING IN GREAT BIG CAPITAL LETTERS.

Sounds like a plan to me.

Im with you Ken! I have worked with Speedy a long time and I have never not been paid. I have always had a good relationship with Frank and Ron. Their customer service is great. I know for a fact that Frank cares alot about his business. I have had late closings and have called the office late at night and Frank was there burning the midnight oil. Now I dont know many companies that you can call and speak to the owner at 10:00 at night! This business is tough for everybody with the economy the way it is, but as far as Im concerned, Speedy is one of the good guys! SPEEDY CLOSING...I appreciate the business! Keep it coming :-)

Ya know Wilkins your are right I have called Frank after a closing and he has always been there to answer the phone.

I did 4 closing one night a few months back and finished the last one at around 1 AM I was all over the state that night.

I have to say it was an interesting night for sure I did not get back home until around 3 AM because the last closing was about 2 hrs from my home.

I called to let Frank know it was done and he answered the phone that is a person who is trying their best to be the best company around.

Does he get right all of the time NO but who the heck does.

BTW it did not take me 60 or 75 days to get paid either on those signings.

Thank you for reminding me there are professionals out there. :-)

After just reading their contract I can say flat out no way Jose` You make a mistake by not noticing that the borrower wrote the date in a different way and no pay and they expect you to fix it. Besides I was already warned about delayed payment by JBA.

I hope Speedy never calls me because I would have to turn them down. First off, if they're listed in SC, I'm not interested. Second, I always let the company know up front that I expect payment in 30 days. If they don't agree, then its a no-go.

I accepted a Speedy job but after reading the feedback on NotRot, I turned the job back to them. I won't help keep scumbags in business, even if there ARE two people saying how wonderful they are.

Julie No I am not a paid endorsement for Speedy and all I have been saying is that if you don't want to do business with some one then don't.

I just looked at your profile and I also have other business interests I am a J.P. I have an accounting and tax business and I could care less if you or anyone else does business with Speedy or any other signing company.

I really don't know many people that Notary is their full time profession only.

It is a business but an extra income business yes everyone wants to get paid and I have to go back to what I asked before how many of the people complaining never got paid.

As I have said all along if you read my posts if you want to do business with anyone then go for it.

If you don't then don't and that is your choice I am not trying to encourage you to do business I have always said in my posts just as I tell all clients when doing a signing.

I have no idea about the nuts and bolts of their docs my job is to collect signatures. Therefore make sure before you sign you name and accept the loan docs because you hold the pen you have the power. Once you sign your name they have the power.

This was taught to me by my Mom when we were little kids and it stuck with me.

Therefore you have the power to accept a job from anyone Taco Bell, Speedy, Ford, Google, Burger King, the IRS whom ever it might be you have the choice.

So am I a PAID advertisement for SPEEDY NO!!!

Do I think some people may have had a poor experience it sounds like it.

However, since Speedy has been around for several years it would seem to me that more people are having a good experience than bad.

If not I would suspect they would have gone the way Document Assistance went a few years back when I got stung for a lot of $$$.

So am I crusading for Speedy No.

I am just saying your choice and be professional about your words that is all.

As my daughter says neough said. :-)

There are a few companies that have managed to stay in business in spite of stiffing notaries left & right (SOX is one). Calling a scumbag company a scumbag company doesn't make me unprofessional. Hiring a notary & then not paying for the service....scummy.

I do pick & choose who to work for. If I have no direct experience, I find out what experience my colleagues have had...and that is how I make my decision.

I choose to work only with companies that have the ETHICS, CHARACTER and MORALS to pay ALL of their independent contractors as agreed. I chose NOT to do business with and support companies that pay a few ICs and steal from MOST other ICs.

With whom you choose to do business with says a lot about **YOU**. JMHO
