Strange places for signings?

I have done signings at McDonalds, Carl's Jr., Denny's, etc. This week I did a signing at a location shoot for a movie. The signing was in Griffith Park in Los Angeles and the borrower couldn't tell me where in the park the shooting was taking place until the morning of the signing. She told me which entrance to go in and "just follow the signs to the VIP area." Then tell the security officer that I wanted the Make Up trailer. Did the signing in the Make Up trailer. What are some of the other "strange" places that you have signed.

At all the restaurants you mentioned, Starbucks, at a horse

show, a roller rink, the fairgrounds. No of those places are "strange" but not the normal in home type of signing spots.

I signed a loan a few years ago in a garage with the car's headlights on because some drunk driver hit a light post and the whole neighborhood was without power.

In the garage at a bachelor party. Car hood many times.
Last night I was lost and thought I had the right place. I helped them get a cow in the trailer before I figured out they weren't who I thought they were.

Okay, James, I think we can cut it off here. That seems to be either the apex or the nadir of strange locations.

Pink and black were popular when I was in college, so I've got a real good visual.

A gated mansion where I was locked in...

a street corner just this side of the San Ysidro border crossing; a car hood outside on a windy day (I suspected something fishy going on in the house); aboard the aircraft carrier Stennis as it was about to sail; the beach (many times); in a manhole in the middle of a 6-lane intersection (I wanted to see what was down there); a couple of fire stations; the county jail (sheriff's deputy); a water treatment plant; a house in the path of a fire (they were in a hurry); plus numerous factories and restricted workplaces the public seldom gets to see.

I think James's visual is delightful!

Okay, this is crazy, but to me, there's nothing quite as manly as:

A man, whether straight or gay...

....at ease holding a little baby.

....patiently helping his aging mother.

....at ease with in a social situation with a man or men who are the opposite (straight or gay).

....sitting on pink cross-dresser's bed completing a signing appointment.

In other words, a man who is comfortable in his own skin.

Smile

A mortuary.

I have done all the usual "strange" places that others have done, but this was the strangest. A family member had passed away, but we had to close that loan ......

At a horseshow, on the hood of a car, on a box in the crowded storeroom of a GNC store, on the hospital bed in the home of a person with kidney failure (he couldn't get out of bed - he signed with the documents on a book).

Corrugated aluminum bleachers under the lights in a 40mph wind at a Little League game.
A bowling alley (that was 'point & sign'...couldn't hear over the noise). The floor of a completely empty house. Waiting room of a Dr.'s office. Many Bank VP's offices--they move out & I move in (temporarily, but it DOES impress those B's~~)

Front yard, picnic table

Borrowers said that their house was under remodel. I suspect the true case is that with seven kids it was a disaster. Luckily it was a very nice day out and they were sweet as pie.

At a construction site, out of the back of a cement hauling truck. I was wearing a black suit - got white cement dust all over it. Thank goodness it was not an expensive outfit.

Met a postal carrier on his route. I had to stay on the phone so he could guide me to the house he just dropped mail off at. We signed at my car - hatchback opened.

Signed on the trunk of a R.E. broker's jaguar. Signed at benches between a soccer field and tennis court.

At a park about the size of a postage stamp (and it was windy as hell that day);

Nordstrom (twice).

At least once a month, I do meet borrowers for signings in hotel or office lobbies, Starbucks, Denny's and the like. Those are no longer unusual for me.
