certified automotive signing agent
Has anyone heard of a certified automotive loan signing agent for the automotive dealerships. If so, is there really a need for them. Thanks

There is one company that does hire notaries to do automotive loan signings. They pay a decent fee, the paperwork is easy. Worth taking their "class" to get certified. I get about one a month from them... Maverick in CA.

That's good to know. It would be additional work and something different. Thanks for the info.

Yup, Maverick Signings is the way to go. You have to pay to get in their system most of the time, but for them, it can be worth it. I would call them first, though, to see if they already have somebody established in your area. If they do, you may not get many calls. My impression is that once their schedulers have somebody in an area that they like, that's who gets the work.
Most of the work they send me are for people who are co-signing loan docs for family members out of state, though last week I did a lease.
They always have docs overnighted to me and the fee is really good considering the work involved.
Personally, I love them and will do whatever they give me.

I never had to pay to "get certified".
There is really nothing to these docs. Very easy.

Is there a need for ANY type of certification in this field?
Nope.
But if you want your business card or resume to look good, then by all means pay the cash to look good.
As long as one follows their state's notary laws, and performs their notarial duties correctly, I believe that's sufficient enough.
