I've worked with him several times. The last time was the end of August. He was easy to work with but the first payment check, which came two weeks after the closing, was short. I called him and questioned the amount. He said he'd have his bookkeeper send out the remainder of the payment. It took about another two more weeks before the balance was sent. The end result was that I did get paid within 30 days but this time it was more of a hassle because of the payment issue.

He called me this week or last week, and I can't recall, why I did not do it, time conflict, or fee ...I did one for him in "08, paid in less than 30 days

In my experience sometimes I have to "remind" about payment, but it always comes. He's easy to work with and always meets my fees, just a little disorganized on the payment side--I think he outsources it his bookkeeping to someone else.

David Baca
After I didn't recieve payment, I emailed invoice and explained my accounting process. Baca told me he didn't like being threatened. He said he would pay me, however he wouldn't ever use me again. Guess he didn't like my accounting terms - that I need to be paid for my services? Strange experience.

Has anybody worked for this guy lately? I did back in August of 2011 and have not gotten paid yet! His "bookkeeper" sent me an empty envelope and when I called her on it after 2 months for not being able to get him to give me her name or number she said she will check on it and never has returned my calls or sent me a check yet. I am still waiting for my $75.00. He says I will just have to wait. Seems to me he is up to his old tricks again.

I did signing for him in Nov 2011. After many threats and emails, finally the escrow company sent me a check which was short by $20.00. I demanded $20 and got another check which did not clear. Yes, he does not like being threatened but if a person does not leave you with a choice what do you do. I would never work with him again. Such a jackass!

I received a call today from David Baca (he sd he was frm JD Signing in So. CA 949-387-3608) for a signing job. He said I would be paid out of escrow. I told him, normally, I am paid by the Signing company or Title company. He said 'it's much better and quicker to be paid out of escrow'. He wants me to contact the Escrow company to set up receiving the e-docs etc. It really it sounds to me like he wants me to do his job. I'm going to decline the job after reading all these negative replies. I don't want the headache.

After receiving a call from David Baca (under the name of JD Signing 949-387-3608) - I read the ongoing problems with him. I had agreed just minutes before to accept a job - so I immediately emailed him back and said I would be unable to do the job for him. He then sent this email to the Escrow company and included me:
Please Cancel this Notary from this order and remove from Database. She claims she doesn’t like the way I do business, albeit I’ve never done business with her. I informed her of Escrow paying but she’s a bit slow to get that.
I thought this was totally unprofessional on his part. BEWARE !!

You are handling these transactions and you don't understand what you are doing? Amazing. Getting paid out of escrow is being paid on the HUD. You need to get some basic understanding of the process.

I have two unpaid signings for him. He owes $65 from July and $105 from August. Bad news company! I contacted the Title Company and let them know that I have not been paid.
