outsourced service provider (OSP) to the debt resolution
Has anyone received a call in regard to OSP?

I have received calls to facilitate the signing of an attorney retainer agreement for the purpose of debt consolidation services, however I have chosen to stay away from these types of appointments. There have also been reports of no-pay from notaries who have done these types of appointments for various companies.

I agree about avoiding these. Many of the debt consolidation or debt reduction companies are scams, and I can't spend the time figuring our who is legit & who isn't. The red flag for me is when they want us to be a "representative". Just like the loan mod scams, remember that you are the only person these folks are ever going to come in contact with. IMO if you're the "facilitator" you are potentially as liable as anyone in the loop.

Another reason for a 10-foot pole; or as my late husband
used to say, "If I were you, I wouldn't pet that dog."

I have spoken with people who' ve bought into this rip off scam, and they tell me that after they've paid the $5000 or so to the company, their own creditors have said, we would have done a workout with you, and you would have paid off your debt faster than you ever well with these self-serving debt consolidating companies who take most of the upfront money for their fees and pay minimum payments to the company...the only side benefit is that interest is frozen, but people can do that on their own.
This is one of the biggest scams at any time, but especially now in a horrible financial crises that is global.

$5,000???!!!! That's worse than the modification
companies' up-front fees for pete's sake!!
I got a call for a debt resolution signing the other night (not the subject company) - 15 pages, no notarizations..blah blah - I told him I don't get involved in those.

Re: OMG Just received this "great opportunity" to help people
I did one of these just before I left Missouri.... I read it quickly just prior to going to the signers location. The compant paid me upfront. I was upset with the papers (words spelled wrong, etc). After I got to the signers home, the husband told me that his wife convinced him this was the right thing to do. I did not want to cross the line of giving legal advice, but I silently hoped that they would not sign after reading the documents..... they signed. I will never, ever do another one of those types of signings. What a rip off.

I did just yesterday and after hearing the spiel, I turned it down. I'm a title producer, not a debt resolution specialist. These companies should send their own, trained, representatives. If the borrowers' bank is a part of this 'great opportunity', then they should be able to go right to them and inquire about it, without using these 'outside entities' to do so.
