Remember to print recordables

How difficult are they to access. Can you access them in advance to check for problems? We have many rural areas where access may be denied. What do you do if this happens at a borrowers location?
Sorry, I have lots of questions.
Is there a web site that I can access to answer all my questions?

A few tips: In order to access the Gemstone/Amtrust site you have to have Internet Explorer.
The tc will provide you with their password. We don't actually sign up as signing agents. The e-signing part isn't difficult, IF there are no technical gliches with equipment on this end. You need to have access to print paper docs ahead of time. Good luck.

What are you charging for these?

I have only done one of these nearly a year ago, but I received the notice today from Servicelink. What is everyone charging for these?

Am Trust

Need to be accessed by using Internet Explorer only. (will not work on other browsers). Recordables are usually available several hours prior to the signing. Test your laptop prior to the assignment by tethering or wifi. It might be easier using the borrower's internet to access AmTrust and download documents directly to their computer.

I have a lap top - internet explorer and can get an air card.
I am concerned that there are many places in our area where there is no cell service.
Like everything new, there are concerns.

Re: Am Trust...Pat

you should really search "esignings" right here...this has been discussed in depth...and I'd bet the majority of your questions have already been answered....equipment, aircard (yes or no), tether (yes or no), cost, ease of use, tips, etc. etc.

Pat - please don't take this the wrong way, it is meant to be helpful to you and your hubby.

These signings require more and usually don't pay any better in order to cover costs you will incur that are above what you are already having. Since I see you posting here quite a bit without doing research and using this forum's search feature as you should be using it, and I also see that you have difficulties sometimes with regular signings when there is no one around to answer your questions, I think you should stop right now and forget this avenue. If you cannot answer your own questions now, think what problems you could potentially have with a whole different platform.

I'm with LindaH on this - you need to use the search button and really read the comments made over the past 2 years. Many have reported that they had difficulties at first, some are still having difficulties.

And, the biggest reason that I see for me not doing them: they just don't want to pay enough for me to make the additional investment.

I agree with you, Julie. You have given good solid advice

here. I'm one of the one's who made the investment in a laptop, aircard, then tethering with my blackberry. I've only gotten calls for about 6 e-signings over the last year. The Flagstar one took almost 2 hours to navigate through, and I decided I will never do another one of those.
It may be to the lender's advantage, but the costs outweigh the benefits from our end, IMHO.

Mostly rural?

Step away from the thought of doing these. Some will say use the borrower's connection, dial up sucks and for what these pay, you will not make back the costs.

Re: Mostly rural?

I'm in an area where cell phone service is very spotty and so know that aircard would be quite bad, too. Add to that the fact that I seriously doubt that there would be any volume at all and I conclude that trying to do this would result in a large loss and total frustration.

And about $60 per month

for 2 years for an aircard. All in all, I've found them to be a real PITA.
