Federal Prison

Hello everyone I am looking for any Notaries who have notarized documents for prisoners in the federal prison. I am not comfortable in going and I have had requests if you are willing please let me know. Did I spell prison right?

I never have...but it seems to me the notarization procedure would be the same as any other general notary request..your issue is admission to the facility, procedure and protocol for meeting and identifying the prisoner, what days and what times it's allowed, and possibly whether or not they already have a notary on staff, which the state facilities do here ...I'd suggest contacting the particular facility for their procedures.

Are you asking for notaries who do go to Federal prisons because it's something you rather not do? Or are you asking for help in finding out the procedures you must follow? kinda confusing..to me.

One way to find out if you spelled a word wrong or not is to google it. If it is wrong another spelling will usually pop up, otherwise you then know you were right.

I always keep another window open as I am a horrible speeller if left to my own devices, or I am a poor typerist - I don't know wheech./

Read the BOP website (Bureau of Prisions)

http://www.bop.gov/

Then contact the facility you would need to go to, to find out their specific requirements. In most cases that I'm familiar with (at the Coleman facility in Florida), the inmate or his/her attorney must specifically and in writing, request your presence. Then you need to complete a Vistor's Information Form and have a background check completed. Obviously, with these requirements, the visit must be pre-arranged and planned. (Again, it depends a lot on the facility and the BOP requirements.)
