Gotta love that SS with the White Gloves

Signing scheduled for 9/27, yesterday, at 5:00. I called the SS at 4:15 for docs. I was told that they could not get them from the lender and that the signing was off. Called the borrower and took a very thorough cussing. This evening the docs were emailed to me at 4:01, scheduled for today. I called the SS thinking they had been sent to me in error, but no, they had simply neglected to reschedule with anyone. A few minutes ago, I received a notification of a quality issue for failing to follow their instructions! Shame on me for doing business with them in the first place and shame on them for for trying to cover their own rear ends at my expense!

Just curious, why did you wait until 45 minutes before the scheduled signing to call?

Did you find out about the demerit point before printing? If so, I'd have sent them their edocs back and said 'TAKE ME OFF YOUR CALLING LIST AND REASSIGN THIS TO SOMEONE WHO IS WILLING TO ACCEPT DEMERITS FROM SUCH AN INEFFICIENT COMPANY.'

I'd put it more nicely than that...but I'd have been really ticked off. I give a 3-hour deadline for edocs and would not have been calling 45 minutes prior.

I had been in signings up to 4:00 when I first started trying to call. The signing was 15 minutes away and I had plenty of time to print. IMO, it is their responsibility to notify me of a cancellation. I shouldn't have to call and ask.

Sorry I jumped to conclusions..

You're absolutely right, when you're that busy you don't have time to babysit the TC.

It's almost always the same. The companies who turn the

tables & have the most instruction, demerits, etc. are usually a total PIA.

<<<Called the borrower and took a very thorough cussing.>>>

Why anyone would take a "very thorough cussing" is beyond me. Wouldn't have happened with me as I would have hung up on them. If that's how the borrowers act over the phone, I'd hate to think how they'd act at the signing.

The first job canceled. The next day is a NEW day and without a NEW confirmation - we have no agreement....that they neglected to reschedule with anyone else is their problem, not mine.

On the other hand, accepted a confirmation on Friday for

Saturday signing; no docs on Friday.

I started rattling chaines around 6AM for docs - msg to Title, online update to SS, called borrower at 9 AM Saturday - and she knew the scoop - which was between she and Lender - and we all waited.

Title called around 11AM my time, (she'd been there since 9AM her time, the sole warm body there, waiting for Lender final HUD,) She'd talked with borrower, and borrower is talking with Lender. She called me. Upshot, no docs today.

Everybody relaxes, everybody's covered, everybody's happy. (except borrower, but I bet she gets Lender to pay the interest she's accruing on their booboo)

Sure, it was a Saturday morning, here in my jammies, the lake a mirror of the rising sun, etched by duck wakes. My morning coffee, Kona beans, reminded me to pat myself on the back for buying my Jura superautomatic espresso machine, "Sven." (Even as his display nagged me to 'empty grounds'. Sigh, I have to do *everything* - next he'll demand ~water~...)

Monday morning, docs were in my inbox by 8AM, At 9, borrower and I worked out a good time for her in the late afternoon, (Lender *paid* interest, Wink ) and docs dropped today. SS completion online, no need for a new confirmation, and signing successfully closed.

Anyway, I fully understand your frustration, and know full well that not all snags are as easy to resolve, I'm just expounding on my practice of Rattling Chains and keeping loops open. Communication. Flexibility. Customer Service. It's why my motto is Your Borrowers Are My Neighbors.

(This borrower was a professional acquaintance, and we had a fabulous time. I got there first, and she right behind me, back from the beach with her fur-faces.

Schooner and Sunny (Sunshine) are Portugese Water Dogs; Sunny with a jaunty bon-bon at the end of her tail, and both neatly clipped. (They have really hairy ears, Sunny grooms Schooner, but he never recirpocates...[I won't editorialize here, promise.]) Extremely well behaved, and adorable. Woof.

Back to the subject - this company is notorious for automated and call-center babysitting, it's over-the-top attempts at structure/accountability, etc, true, and I've been 'fired' as often as Dagwood by Mr Dithersas over these years. Yet, they still call, and pay like clockwork, and benefit from my business ethos: Service.

jmho.

You should be proferred an extra fee for your time. It is a cost to you.
