I'm moving in with the borrower

I must vent.

I'm getting ready to meet the borrower for the fourth (4th) time to redo the same loan paperwork. None of the return visits are due to anything I've had any control over.

The first time the escrow numbers were wrong. Package was held until new numbers came in. I went back second time, and all original and reworked docs were sent to title in one package.

Title called me and questioned where the new numbers were. I asked if they got the package. "Yes, but the new escrow wasn't there." When I told them all were sent in same package, I was told I needed to go back to get HUD resigned. Third time (with a third set of numbers); package returned to title. Now they say I didn't get HUD-1 signed.

Since there were only 2 places that needed signed, and both the borrower and I know that she signed them, I think they "lost" the paperwork--again. I'm meeting with the borrower 1/2 way (it's a 26 mile one-way trip I've made three times now), so that the docs can be signed yet again. I'm printing off the same set that was signed earlier this week, so the numbers won't change again.

Now to add to the confusion, this is a company with less than positive reviews on NotRot. I negotiated fees for the first three trips, and hope I get paid "within 30 days" as promised. Since it's my fault, according to them, I won't get paid for this 4th trip. And I'm only doing this because the borrower really wants this to go through.

Seesh.

Do you record your notarization's in a notary log for proof of document, time, and signature?
If you do not, you must like to work hard!!

The house today in Newport overlooked the bridge and

harbor. The first words out of my mouth were "where's my room, and what time's dinner." Standard Notary Humor, I know, but I really meant it today.

Artisan architecture: huge harbor windows, tons of artful walls, nooks, crannies; the owner just back from China with a wonderful story, and two tiny dogs - one of whom Nick rescued from a life in hell, and is slowly improving - Mimi, poor little dear.

My signer was the photographer's neighbor, and their congenial hospitality was splendid. She was so nervous because it was a split signing with her partner who was in the subject property in Hawaii, and they had a heck of a time getting to this point. But, the docs were extremely well generated, there was no silly stuff, and the rate was *so* nice, and every accomodation was made for the distant Notary, certificately speaking. It was a joy.

I declined a tour of the upper floors, as they mentioned the beds weren't made, and it wasn't "company ready," but the descriptions were enough...what a total pleasure on a rainy day, Saturday signing.

Just venting, too, in a way. But I also am so sorry for your convoluted and upsetting deal there, Ikkando, I can relate to the not-so-great as well. It's a numbers thing, right? Most of the time, it's alright. Most of the time.
