Loan Processing Center (NLC)

I received the below in my e-mail today, but after reading all of the SC comments I feel some really bad vibes about LPC/NLC. Anyone have more to contribute?

We are a signing agency, Loan Processing Center and we are doing more and more closings in your area. We are always searching for qualified notaries that we could utilize in future closings. At the Loan Processing Center we use My Closing Tracker, a scheduling program to find most of our notaries. We would like to use you, but we noticed that you weren't signed up with the National Loan Closers network. By signing up on their website we will be able to utilize your notary services in the future.

Lots of confusion on this. NLC is the platform. LPC is one ss that uses that platform.
They email closing alerts. I haven't gotten anything in quite a while, but the fees were lower than what is acceptable to me. You'll have to decide for yourself.

Isn't Loan Processing Center the same company that has the cajones to call a notary to verify that they will be on time to an appointment...yet got all upset about being called a handholding babysitter?

LOL Marian, you said cajones or cojones...

because cajones means boxes and I know you meant cojones.

From Wikipedia:

"Cojones (Spanish pronunciation: [koˈxones]) is a vulgar Spanish word for testicles, denoting courage; it is considered a curse word in Spanish. In English, as a loanword, it similarly means courage or brazenness"

LOL....oops... what can I say, I'm not so good with

the Spanish. I try and try, but it always comes out wrong because I learned Portuguese.

Of course, it's been over 10 years since I spoke it fluently... so I mess stuff up all the time. Living in an area with so much Spanish, it makes it that much worse. I can understand Spanish speakers about 90% of the time, but whenever I try to speak it? Hilarity ensues.

RE: NLC $70 edoc closings, don't waste your time!

I get their email alerts on $70 edoc closings. They are ridiculous! I have logged into their site and said that I might be available and then quoted my fee. I have done this on a few occasions with no replies. Now I don't even bother wasting my time logging onto their site anymore.

If I happen to get an email alert for a$70 closing I could walk to, I might think about it.
I would say it's not worth your time messing with them unless your a newbie and starving! In that case any hand holding probably wouldn't bother you.

Re: RE: NLC $70 edoc closings, don't waste your time!

I'm a newbie. I quote $70 signing; $25 edocs; and $15 fax backs up to 22 pages ( should cover DOT, HUD, and NOTE). I am getting 3 to 4 signings per week since I started last March.
This question will cause quite a stir so I need to let you know I am in southern Arizona. Am I too high; too low or should I revise certain portions of my pricing? I will appreciate your input, but please, no put downs. I'm just trying to find out how much the signing company's spread is for future price negotiations.

Thanks in advance

Re: RE: NLC $70 edoc closings, don't waste your time!

Some itemize fees, but I don't. I quote a $ amount which includes faxbacks. Overnight pkgs. are so rare, it's not even worth mentioning. Faxbacks are extra, even though many of us will faxback a few without charging. When I was starting out I quickly established a $100 minimum, with higher rates when working directly for a tc. I'm in a densely populated area with lots of notaries available. I have to keep my fees competitive. I think $100 is a good starting point, but everyone has to get a feel for what is a good fee for their area.

You are too low in my opinion. I am lucky to have a busy regular client that does Overnight packages all the time (never e-docs) and I charge $100 for those. Its a sweet deal. It would be hard for me to justify doing e-docs with faxbacks at a similar price.

are they located in Kentucky? If so, they are the ones who wanted a notary I know to spend $29.00 on a "pay card" and when the signing was complete, they would (but didn't always) put the agreed amount on the card. I don't how she was supposed to use the card though.
