My new favorite pen
is a Uni-ball Jetstream 0.7 fine point. I never cared too much for gel pens and have been using just the cheap Papermate ballpoints. However, when I start to sign my name on my notary certificates, I'm having a problem where the ink on the ballpoint is not flowing immediately and I often have to over-write which of course looks sloppy and could cause problems with *some* lenders (Provident, anyone???)
I researched pens and tried the Uni-Ball Jetstream fine point and really like it. It's a roller-ball pen, which I guess is a hybrid between gel pen and ballpoint. Kind of hard to find in the 0.7 fine point size. I found black ones at Office Depot but could only find the blue ones at Office Depot online. Bonus: ink dries extremely quickly. I bought some for my daughter who is a lefty (ink smears when they write) and she loves them!

I totally agree!!! Oh, my goodness. I got a certificate for a free sample of this pen not long ago and I got it in the mail last week. I love this pen, so smooth. I, too am a lefty, and I have a tough time with pens and smearing ink.
The sample I have is a "bold point" but it doesn't bother me that much. I tend to prefer super fine point pens, too... but this is one I love. definitely going to look for more of these.

I got a free one too, a couple of months ago. I didn't really use it much and while I was researching pens I realized DUH! I already have one of those! The free one I got is a 0.7 fine point. I bought a couple of gel pens to try them out but they are 1.0 medium point and I prefer a slightly finer point.
When buying from Office Depot, don't forget to use the E-Purchasing discount program that LSI offered to its vendors a while back!
I still give my borrowers the cheap ballpoints to use, so if I don't get them back it doesn't really matter!

We used to use the cheapies and had problems with them so switched to the Uniball Vision Elite and people love these pens. Most remarkably though we have had 2 young men who needed to hold the pen in their mouth to sign (both were quadraplegics) and they loved the pen. We left a pen with each of them.

I'll have to try that one. I've always loved a good pen & have never been fond of ballpoints. I'm using them for signings now, because the great gel pens I was using had a tendency to smear.

I love a fountain pen. In January when I renew my signature will be shorter and I will begin using one for my signings. Noodler's Ink has some great waterproof, tamper proof, quick drying, long lasting inks - guaranteed 300 years. That should last my lifetime.

That brings back memories. I used a fountain pen for many years. Back in the day we had to use them in school for stenography. It was cool when they came out with ink cartridges instead of having to refill.

I have been trying to find a good pen to use. I wasn't for sure if we could use gel ink or not on documents. But the other day the borrower was using one of my ball point pens and the ink didn't come out right and it did not come out clearly on the documents. so needless to say she used one of hers and we had to switch the document out with her copy. What is a recommendable ink to use on documents so it won't smear.

After reading about this pen I happened to be in The Dollar Tree (everything is a dollar) and guess what - they have the exact pen and there are two to a package for $1.00! I purchased one package just to check it out and dearly love it. Thanks guys and gals for recommending it and now I won't have to pay an arm and a leg for them either.
