Nstarllc.com update
View msg 352031 for background. Finally received check after alot of emails and phone calls. But what really got the check sent ASAP was the email I sent using the deadbeat collection letter posted on NR. I CC'd the everyone I had an email for which include Equifax Settlement services.
I received an email from Equifax Settlement services that I was cc'd stating they sent payment to Nstar on 7/9/10 and can provide a copy of the cleared payment. Wow Nstar!!!!
However Im happy to say I was sent payment quickly and within 2 days of the email sent by Equifax.
Thanks for the collection letter.
Now if only I can link Nstar to this thread and previous ones I made.
And yes, I have been stiffed by alot of companies I took signings for in July. Alot of those companies either dont show in NR or have average to good ratings.

I'm glad to hear you were successful in collecting, Toni. I would suggest that you do like many of us & be choosy who you take work from in the first place. It's like the deadbeats know who to contact. If they're not listed in SC, post a question about the co. so others may be able to help you avoid these collection issues.

Actually I do check NR first and any feedback. this company was recommended and the person said they paid on time. But wasnt sure of paying for a no sign. This was a no sign only because due to the Lender not being available during the 4th of July weekend. The loan officer went on vacation the day of the signing. The company told me they would pay me full fee because we tried every number possible to get a hold of someone to answer the BO questions. Also there were no other feedback on the company so I had only to go off this one notary's recommendation.

We all get caught in those situations. I was just trying to help you to get to a place where you don't have to chase your money.

Re: Nstarllc.com update/ Question
I checked SS this company looked ok in 2009. What happened to them to ( turn rogue) in 2010. Did they change hands or just bad business.

Re: Nstarllc.com update/ Question
Teddog, I have never had a problem with NorthStar Settlements. They are one of my faves to work (done several for them in 2010) for but they don't have a huge amount of business in my area. I don't believe these messages about them are linked to the correct company in Signing Central.

Re: Nstarllc.com update/ Question
So they are called Northstar...didnt know that. I just searched the phone number and fax number of the company and that is what I came across. Now that I looked up Northstar settlement, I see they share the same address. Thanks for the heads up Copper. Here is the address information I have in email:

Re: Nstarllc.com update/ Question
I'm confused when you say you didn't know the name of the company - Toni, you yourself posted the website of this company and if you go to the website it tells you their name and all contact info. One of your prior posts connected NorthStar Settlements to Equifax, with NorthStar acting as SS for Equifax - I have done many jobs for NorthStar and have never had one that involved Equifax. NortStar Settlements is a TC, not a signing service. In any case, I've had nothing but positive experiences with NorthStar Settlements. Sorry that wasn't the case for you, and glad you finally got paid.
Someone has linked these threads to Settlement Solutions in Signing Central, and I believe that link is in error.
