It's just for taking the exam.. which is interesting. They even give you a stidy guide stating is is for use DURING the test.

Utah really is ahead of a lot of states when it comes to technology in some ways, though it's more in the private sector than not.

I went to college in Utah and was lugging around a laptop to class way back in 1998.


But then again... this is also the state were the written driver's test is OPEN BOOK, too. I kid you not. I was so mad when I went to the DL office. I'd been studying the Utah laws for weeks. As I go to take the test, the lady hands me a copy of the handbook, too. I ask her why and she says, "So you cna look up the answers if you want. The test is open book."
