POA ID
Will somebody please give me some insight on POA ID ASAP? TIA. Specifically with respect to what ID is required for the absent principal.
Have we ever talked about this before?

I don't think I've ever gotten ID copies for the absent party. The POA is the doc I need. Otherwise, the only ID I get is for the person appearing before me & signing.

Either I am missing something, or His Hughness is pulling
notrot's chain. The identity of the principal was the problem of the NP who notarized the POA. Sometimes I have been given a copy of pricipal's ID. If so I enclose it with losn dox as lender may need it ror Patriot Act purposes. Although not required by me, I like to see a copy of the POA so that I can determine how the AIF is named in the POA so that they can sign as so named, unless preprinted on the dox I do, of course, require a valid ID for the AIF. Re: Either I am missing something, or His Hughness is pulling
Guess I got too cutesy with the question.
Did a POA signing. Lender has seen the POA, which was not available to me. What is my responsibility other than matching the signature of the principal via the attorney in fact to the name on the document? What if, for example, the POA which I haven't seen is in the name of Mike Jones and the name on the document is Michael Jones?

Not your problem
Lender has seen and/or has a copy of the POA. How the AIF signs the principal's name is up to the lender/title when the documents are prepared. Notwithstanding seeing the POA yourself and explicit directions on how the documents are to be executed, have the signer use the name as printed on the documents.

Re: POA ID asap - That would be ID for Idaho...where
POA means Paid On Account. An Idahoan paid a bill.
Oh. Wait. You mean - uh oh, you're *not* talking accounting, are you...
I'm just a PITA, SAT*.
*sorry about that
