Printer advice

I run HP 1020 and 1022 printers. Can someone tell me how to set the Economode print setting as the default? I keep forgetting to set it until midway through a packet. TIA, and I owe you a Snickers bar.

Might be an easier way, but this is the only one I know:
Start >Printers & Faxes >Preferences >Advanced See "Economode"?
Click on the 'off' and a pull down menu comes up and you can change it to ON.

Done & thanks loads.

You like the regular, almond or dark chocolate Snickers?

Ya' know...on that 'Advanced' page??? You might also try clicking next to the "print quality' that shows 'dots per inch' and a drop down menu appears where you can increase or decrease the dpi as low as it will go. Which is probably 300 dpi. I find that's a better option than economode... you literally can't tell the difference but are using much less toner.

Can you use this advise for any printer?

To a point... but the newer the printer, the less likely they are to go really low on the dpi.
Gotta sell lots of those cartridges, ya' know~~ You've got nothing to lose by trying, tho'. However, IF you can use & download a PCL5e driver with your hp (I think it's only hp)....guys, I'm way over my pay grade here.... then the 300 dpi will show up. I know zero about other brands of printers.

I would say yes, but be aware that many printers, especially newer models, will only go as low as 600 dpi or even 1200 dpi. The point is that you should select the lowest dpi (dots per inch) that you can. It has very little effect on textual printing, but a major effect on graphics.

I think you are talking about Cabana Boy-Version 2011.v.4. Not backwards compatible. Must have Windows 7 (to peer out of).
