Problems with the search on this site?
Anyone having issues with the search map being incorrect? If I seach for notaries in my own zip code, it shows an area about 10 miles north of where I am and it pulls the closest notaries to that area, not me.
I have sent a message regarding this to the contact email. I sent a message a couple weeks ago and didn't get a response.

Zip code searches are not exact...
When you search by zip code, it tends to give the mileage based on the geographic center of the zip code. I have this problem a lot...
For example, if you search for a notary in zip code 93535, that distance is calculated from an area that is sparsely populated (140th St East and Ave G) because it is using a geographic center. The fact is the the vast majority of those living in that zip code actually live 10-14 miles to the west. However, if you then look in zip code 93534... anyone in 93535 is now about 14 miles away, when in reality, they're likely only 1-2 miles away.
It is for this reason that I calculate from a specific point, rather than by zip code.

The problem is not about the center or an area of a zip code. I live in the 63143 zip. The map is showing the area of 63134, which is not close, and all the notaries coming up are not close to my zip and I don't even show up, even though it is my zip code.
