Since the message 351271 is so far back

and addressed to the forum and me, here is my ADULT response to J Trejo. Please call our SOS. The number is 601-359-1350 and speak to Nan in the notary division. If she tells you anything different from what I have said then please come back on here with her information and I will make a public apology to the lady and to the other site. I will be anxious to hear the follow up. I never named the notary or the site in my post but allowed anyone to search her out with the lady's own words and come to their own conclusion. Anyone was free to go to MS SOS website and see if she was listed. Not being listed is what provoked me to call the SOS in the first place and find out why she was not on their website. I don't think that I am the only notary that checks out profiles to see how competition stacks up and it has nothing to do with how I use my time.

snoopdogMs, you new "rebel", it's Sid in Weatherford Tx.
I check out Notaries in Texas who post, as with you, to "know" who my competition is.
Aside, many times I call them to see what they get for signing. Iinform them of my fees.
Talk about sticking together to be able to make a profit.
If the are close, then ask if they will join the other SA's in our area at our need breakfast meeting to get know each other.

setting fees or trying to set them with your competition [price fixing] is anti trust and u need to tred lightly in doing so........just a friendly caveat..........

Hey it's five finger Sid!!!!

Enjoyed talking with you the other day. Other subject here, I don't think I would share my fees with the locals as this business is SO competitive that it could be the opportunity for the competition to stay $5 or $10 under my fee if they know my fee. It would be a perfect world if we would stick together and command a certain fee. I do have one SA friend here that we help each other by recommending each other when we are busy. I don't get too much of her business as her fees are close to the NNA suggested fees. But I wouldn't mind meeting with others as I just like people period and we do have some "strange" amusing stories to share.

Don't misconstrue my perfect world statement as suggesting

price fixing. Obviously we are not in a perfect world and price fixing is not allowed.

This is a really bad idea...

You may be violating anti-trust laws by discussing your fees with your competition and talking to them about "sticking together to make a profit". I know you Texans tend to be independent, but this is a huge no-no as far as the Feds are concerned. My advice (and I am not a lawyer) would be to either stop doing it or stop talking about it on a public forum....

My response to J Trejo

First of all, you need to read the entire thread and do your own research before you go blasting the OP... in fact, the research has already been done for you if you'd just read the posts - go look for yourself...I did...

Second, who are you? Your very first post here is blasting an established posting member who happens to have valid proof in hand of what she's saying? Can we all sing the troll song hallelujah? No credibility..

Re: I guess they don’t believe in free speech, the op who

mentioned it on their FB has had her free listing pulled off! It seems to me, that they don’t like to be critiqued, only praised!!!

I just saw that myself... how could they delete Mary Ellen's profile? LOL

Just kind of proves what kind of competence is behind that particular website.

Kudos to you for doing your notary duty & reporting this

situation (fraud). As always, there will be bouquets & brickbats. Consider mine a bouquet!
