Speedy in NJ

Has anyone been getting a lot of calls from Speedy in NJ? I hear they are famous for very slow payments. They owe me $470 and I hesitate to do any more biz with them until I get paid, hoping that will be the end of the month. b/t/w why does it take so long for signing agents to get paid????????????

They are long-standing slow payers. Someone posted recently that they only take work from them with PayPal upfront. Otherwise, you will need to call Frank & Ron to bug them for your money. It's like you have to pry it out of their hands. I have a problem with companies who see their accounts receivable as their money. It's not. They're making it from our efforts. Pay us first! It's nothing personal. I like those guys, but it's disrespectful when I have to chase my money that I work hard for.

Speedy isn't so speedy in paying. Too much effort in trying to get paid..Not worth it!

Huge headache for payment. Agreed, not worth it. I don't take their calls anymore, and the number is in my phone labeled "DNA" (Do Not Answer).

Because you're a nice person and don't want to rock

the boat. That's the reason why it takes so long for most to be paid. The other reason is found in your statement. " They owe me $470 and I hesitate to do any more biz with them until I get paid, hoping that will be the end of the month." Hoping is not a good strategy, especially since this service resides in your state.

Franny, I don't have collection issues. Why? Because I keep apprised of who the no-pay or too-slow-pay companies are and I simply do not work for them. I check out every company that calls me. It's easy to check out any company just by using the message search feature and the Signing Central feature on this website. Even if I have already accepted the job, I check out the company ASAP and if I find they are no-pay or too-slow-pay, I turn the job back to them. I use the caller ID feature on my phone and code those companies as "No!" in front of their name, so when they call me again, I simply don't bother answering the call.

The only time I have a rare collection issue is when I "take a chance" on a brand new company that has no established history. The last one I did that with was Spectra Signing Services and they ended up being deadbeats. I got paid, though, because I found the right button to push.

As for Speedy, they called me the other day and I flat out told them that I will not work for them due to their poor payment reputation on Notary Rotary. So in answer to your question, my opinion is: Do NOT accept additional work from Speedy.

This guy will lie to you constantly just to postpone payments.

Had a call from them yesterday. Dodged a bullet.

Luckily, I'm recouping from surgery and wasn't able to accept. However, came on NotRot to check 'em out. Whew!! Wasn't about to refer them to either of my stand-ins either! If they can't meet my standards, I won't let them knowingly bother my distinguished colleagues.

Yoli hope everything turned out O.K.

Didn't have to worry about me on this one, I should have told you about my experience with them although I did finally get paid.

EXACTLY!! I especially agree with the last sentence. A known lowballer keeps calling me and it goes directly to voicemail. Wonder if/when they will get the hint.

Re: 5 Stars CopperheadVA

Same here... there are some low ballers that don't even ring my phone anymore. I set them in a profile that keeps silent... so unless I'm looking at my phone at the time, I don't even know (or care) when they call.

If they end up leaving a message (they rarely ever do), I do always call them back to be polite, but darn it... I'm always booked up. Of course, these are also the same companies that want to pay me $75 total for a signing w/ edocs in less than an hour about 20 miles away. Funny how they always hang up on me when I quote them a price that's more than double what they want to pay in those situations.

Tired of trying to collect my money from "Ron". Speedy is responding to all the complaints filed with the BBB for non payment so I filed a complaint yesterday. I am letting the BBB handle it for me.
