Title Stream

Well, just received the bankruptcy notice that Title Stream has filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. I would suggest that if anyone is owed money by them try to find out if they had a bond and go after payment that way as the statement says:" Creditors May Not Take Certain actions: In most instances, the filing of the bankruptcy case automatically stays certain collection and other actions against the debtor and the debtor's property. Under certain circumstances, the say may be limited to 3 days or not exist at all, although the debtor can request the court to extend or impose a stay. If you attempt to collect a debt or take other action in violation of the Bankruptcy Code, you may be penalized". I am not an attorney but I don't think going after their bond (if they had one) would be illegal. Any thoughts on this. Disclaimer - not an attorney, blah, blah, blah.

I got it today too...date of filing was 4/13/10

I was just looking around on here to see if anyone had posted about it as I don't recall reading anything after Sturgeon's BK was finalized.

I got it yesterday. I had worked for them a couple of times years ago but nothing recent so they didn't owe me any money. What I was confused about was that I thought they already went through BK and it was settled???

Linda...the individuals did...that's what was discharged

some time ago (Monte Sturgeon and his wife)...from what I've read, apparently they neglected to file for the business, or it was a strategic overisight - get themselves personally out of having to pay everyone then move on to the company....

Kind of a dirty trick, that you were not notified in time to file a claim with the Trustee.

Oh they don't owe me any money

I haven't worked for them since 2006...which is why I was surprised to even get any notices at all for any of the BK's.

Wrote this off a couple years ago when those folks filed individual bankruptcy. Not sure why they're even bothering to do it for the corporation, and certainly see nothing for me to do now in a no asset chapter 7. Nothing but stirring up a bad memory. They just got me for several hundred, as I recall. Did quite a bit of work for them before they went under. Just one of those things.

I did get every thing they owed me. These lawyers send out to everyone with a w-9 and get paid by the notice so I am sure I will get lots more.
God knows how many I got from the last one that didn't owe me anything.
Reminds me of when my rich aunt was under guardianship. I even got a letter telling me that they bought her new underwear and a toothbrush. Once she died we didn't hear a word.

Got one too. As with everyone else, wrote off a long time ago.

Maybe they are doing it because someone is still trying to collect (a business creditor or maybe even a former employee)? IMO, who cares? Nothing the ones they stiffed can do about it. They have no assets.
