Toner...question....tia

A whole ago I ordered toner to do some refilling. It is a really a light black color. Even if I use 1200 dpi's it is almost too light to read for some people. So I was doing some research and found that there is Toner and then Enhanced toner. What is the difference is between them. TIA

Sure you're not printing with Economode turned on?? That's my best guess. Never heard of 'enhanced toner' so am no help with that.

I have the same problem!!!

My two printers are Dell 1110s. Both normally work without any problem. I buy 8 or 10 refills at a time, and they arrive in small plastic bottles, all in one box, with no apparent difference in toner. Once upon refilling, I put the cartridge back into and the lighter printing began. I tried the settings for 300 or 600 pixels, economy, standard, and dark printing, all several times and all to no avail. Even put the cartridge into the other printer, and it still produced lighter print. I refilled another cartidge and it worked fine in both printers. Weeks later, the same thing happened again! Luckily, I have 4 cartridges, so now 2 out of 4 are printing lightly. I don't have a clue as to the reason or resolution.

Re: I have the same problem!!! Thank you... also I found....

I do have more toner from the same "toner company". I have ordered it from them for years. This is the first time a bottle ever came this lighter. Even at 1200 dpi it is light. I changed my fuser also in my brother MFC 8890 dw and that did not help. It must be a very light black color. .

I am not sure how much enhancement toner matters to us: For the Tec kinda person

Because of advantages in machine simplicity and consistent image quality, dry monocomponent toners will
play an increasingly important role as consumables for nonimpact electrostatic and magnetic imaging systems. Most currently available monocomponent toners have the ferromagnetic component, generally magnetite, present as uniformly dispersed particles in a matrix of thermoplastic resin. It is shown that, by incorporating the ferromagnetic material as a surface coating, the same magnetic moment can be obtained at given field strength with a reduced proportion of ferromagnetic material. With the ferromagnetic material in particulate form, the enhancement in magnetic moment over the case of a uniform distribution is relatively modest. For example, if magnetite particles are incorporated in a thin, dense outer shell, a toner particle with 40 wt-pct magnetite develops the same magnetic moment for applied fields up to 500 oersteds as a toner particle with 60 wt-pct magnetite uniformly distributed. A higher degree of magnetic moment enhancement requires applying a continuous outer shell of ferromagnetic material.

I have changed it up to 1200 dpi's and it is the same lightness.
