What now?
I have got my notary and all that goes with it, and I have my Indiana Title producers Liscense, and I am certified as a loan signer, so where do I go from here? I'm listed on Notary Rotary but haven't recieved any calls. Is there something I'm missing? I'm new at this so if anyone has any tips please help!

Click on the signing central tab and contact companies to
see how to get listed in their databases.
Then the calls will come.

Re: Click on the signing central tab and contact companies to
Karen - I'm new also; started in March 2010 and I agree with GA/ATTY. Contact, contact, contact and market, market, market. I try to contact five signing services and title companies per day through their websites. When I'm done with the Signing Central list I start over again. I only contact three star and above, but have been told by more experienced signers to limit it to four star and above. So far I'm up to 3 - 4 signings a week, so it takes time to grow.
Also, read Notary Talk every day. The knowledge you can gain from what I call "our elders" is incredible.
Good Luck

Also go through old threads. Go back as far as you can stand, then do it again. What I learned just by reading here beats everything I learned getting certified by a thousand times.
I'd also recommend figuring out a marketing strategy. I have my cards in every business in town, everyone I meet I manage to mention that I'm a Notary. Additionally, I've bought business lists of high income earners in my area. EVERYTHING I do is done with an eye to marketing.
I started doing signings in late May/early June. I'm busy and getting busier by the day.
One last note - you didn't get your notary. You're a Notary Public and you notarize signatures.

Is your listing with NR a free one or Premium Membership?
Most of us have found that the Premium Membership pays for itself, because it places you higher on the list. Companies are only going to go down that list so far. From my own experience, I got no calls from the free listing & lots from the Premium Membership. You might try reading message 33325. Most of us have found that being "certified" doesn't really prepare you for anything. Good luck in building your business.

Thanks MW/VA. I knew if I watched and participated in this chat I would get "elders" advise. I just upgraded my membership to Premium. Karen, see what I mean,,,The elders can give great advice on Notary chat!!!!!!!

LOL. I know you mean it only in a complimentary way, Jim,
but women my age aren't flattered by the term "elder". LOL We like to be seen as seasoned professionals, willing to share some of what we've learned on the way. I'm glad you're getting good advice here.

Note to James
You may safely refer to Marilyn, or any woman younger than your great-grandmother, as a "cutie." If she is unmarried, or not firmly attached to an NFL linebacker or wrecker driver, you may call her a "hottie." If she owns more than one bikini, your descriptive lexicon can include "really hot number." If she likes tequila, dislikes restrictive underclothing, and can be found most Saturday nights at Billy Bob's, what you may call her is not appropriate for this forum.
If YOU are married, disregard all of the foregoing. Try "nice lady."
