Wilshire Credit, 800-641-6700
called for auto equity for tomorrow. They overnight 2 sets of docs to me. I verify VIN and mileage and make sure there's no major damage. 1 notarization and they pay $50. Location is 10 minutes from me.
I've never done these. I did check SC - nothing for Wilshire. Did search and there were some postings last year for this type of assignment but no hiring entity was mentioned.
Oh ... and they got my name from #'s site. (2nd call from that site that I can recall)
Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.

I've done about six for them so far...very easy to do and no hand holding. I would take all they offer. If you if they want pictures of the car, you can increase your fees. After a few, they may even include your check with the one for the customer.

I've worked with them before (Clorie) on a few deals. They were very easy to work with and paid in a reasonable time period (30-35 days or so). Along with the overnight package, they will send you a check that you are to leave with the BO after signing. They will ask for photos of the car, VIN, and mileage. I'd say the thing you really want to ensure is that the photo you take of the VIN be visable so you might have to take a couple shots of it. I would take the photos, and email them back to my contact instead of printing them out.
I'd take their $50 job again.

This company works well with the notaries they hire to get jobs done for them... because they are eager to get the loans closed. Most of these are cash advance/title loans with outragous interest rates, though they also do a lot of subprime auto lending through dealerships.
I've heard from some that they are terrible to their borrowers, do a lot of bait and switch kind of stuff.
But as far as paying the notaries to verify the vehicles? They handle those as a priority.

Just did one a couple of weeks ago, clients came to me and no pictures had to be taken. They do pay $50, it used to be $75, but for the time invested, I'd take all they throw at you.

I agree. You have to really bite your tongue - or try not to look at the terms - to keep from getting ill. But if the borrowers really want the loan, it's their choice. They may not have any other options. I also noticed that Wilshire Credit isn't too picky about the car's condition. For the amount of interest they're making, I'm not surprised. But as Marian said, I found them very easy to work with and I was paid quickly.

I just did two of the car loan deals for them. Did any of you check the oil and pull a spark plug out while the engine was running? For $65 that is just asking too much. Other than that, kind of a sweet deal. By the way, I was not told on the phone anything about a vehicle inspection. Deceitful, but now that I know what to expect I would take more of those. They called me for one more yesterday, but it was too far and they wouldn't give an extra $10.
