esignings

I have received two emails since yesterday about doing esignings. Are we quickly moving into this ? I would need an aircard and printer for this which I am not able to afford right now.
Also, need to check with sos in my state to see if I would be able to do this.I see one can also print out the notary pages.

Some use their cell phone to access the internet and not an aircard.

I received an email today about e-signings from a SS that does not like to pay my fee even for a regular closing, so I am not planning to go out an get equipped for e-signings just so they can lowball me. I did have an aircard from 2006 - 2008 and I couldn't wait to get out of that two year contract! Total money waster for me. I rarely get requests for e-signings so I am not planning to invest in any extras. I can always bring my laptop and a long internet cord if I absolutely have to.

I have done several this last month. Do I like them? Nope!!! I will do them anyway. Every borrower I have done an e-sign for has wireless internet. I will not buy an aircard not profitable for me at this time. You don't need a portable printer you can print the docs before just as if you were doing a regular signing. You should try one and see if you like it. I have done AMTRUST and FLAGSTAR. AMTRUST by far has my vote.

Yes, those are the two that have contacted me for esignings.

I am going to try it . At first without the aircard and no printer. I will print the necessary docs from home.I don't want to spend money if I am not getting my moneys worth.

I was asked by one ss how much I would charge. I will give them a fee and see how they react.

Printing of their copies is not necessary. You only need to print the documents that require their signatures and take them to the signing and a Cd can contain a copy for the borrowers then when the esigning is complete you can save the signed online documents onto the same cd. We have done probably 75+ esignings and have always done it this way.

I had an e-signing two weeks ago where the instructions were to print two complete packages of all docs. One set to borrower. For the other set, I was told to go through the e-sign and as we e-signed a doc, pull out that doc from the paper package. Instructions were to go through the entire e-sign like that, and whatever docs were left over at the end were to be paper signed. Utterly ridiculous.

Do you mean print the docs that have to be signed and notarized?

and, do you charge more for esignings?

Always charge more for esignings.

Flagstar requires you print and wet-sign security instrument and and any riders thereto, RTC for each borrower, name affidavit & 2506T.

I much prefer Amtrust.

I was doing 1 every now and then. However, August, I had 7 esignings!! All Flagstar.

You don't need an additional printer. Do printing prior to leaving home/office.

Insofar as air card, yes or sign at Starbucks or other free wi-fi or use Droid 2 or HTC, which give you 5 gig hot spot. My Verizon contract for my air card comes up in December and I'm switching to Droid 2 then (saving approx. $45 p/mo by switching).

I Don't bother w/an aircard...

Just confirm w/borrower that they have WIFI access or internet explorer on their own computer or meet at a location in which you can access WIFI, I do explain though that this is a public connection to them & make sure they are ok w/that.

Re: I Don't bother w/an aircard...

I've done one esigning with Amtrust so far. The borrower temporarily disabled security on his wireless network so that I could access it with my laptop. Then he saved the esigned documents on his flash drive.
