update on x marks the spot

I recently accepted a job from x marks the spot but after checking sc and discovering a two star rating I decided to cancel. I promptly called Missy to explain why I would not be taking the job. She gave me her explanation and promised to put me in direct contact with the title co for payment. She was true to her word. I dealt directly with the title company and they promised to pay as soon as the loan funded. True to their word I received my check within days of the signing.

X Marks the Spot (Missy) is great. However, people often confuse them with other X companies that are not good. IMO, they should change their name!

I have to disagree

I had a horrible time trying to get paid for a few closings I did in the past, but that was a few years ago. I had to go to the title company and I finally got paid. It was this company (Missy) but maybe things have changed.

According to Signing Central... quite a few people disagree

that this company being any good. Majority opinion tends to be fairly accurate in these cases.

I wonder why no favorable comment were posted in SC?

I wonder how she explained to the title company that the

notary would need direct payment, in order, to complete the job? It makes you wonder about these relationships???? I can only imagine the string of lies told to make that happen.

Re: I wonder how she explained to the title company that the

SOX, X marks the spot or other similar named signing service I just turn down automatically. I won't even take a chance or believe any promises made. Not worth the hassle.

Well, I did a couple of closings for them. 3 in one month to be exact and then no payment. I called and was somewhat concerned because I did not hear back. Then I got a call back and true to her word I got a check for all three within a couple of days.

It was X Marks the Spot, Missy Rowe. The title co was Performance Title they had agood rating in SC that's why I agreed to do it. They dealt with me directly and were excellent to work with. After I accepted the assignment I checked her rating in SC and "immediatelly called her to cancel then I called the title co to tell them WHY I was cancelling. I wanted them to know about her reputation and my reason for cancelling before she could blast me. At any rate it worked out and I got paid. YAY!!
