Cogent Called me

to close a loan about 1hr drive. I quoted a price (not knowing who they were) he accepted. When I looked the company up I saw the reputation for non payer and then emailed to decline. The gentleman that called me said they were not using Dynamic anymore but scheduling on their own. If anyone has had a good experience with this company direct they should post it. I don't understand why a signing company would use another signing company to find closers though.

I had exactly the same experience with them. Got a call for a closing and they accepted the price. I then looked them up and called the person at cogent back to let him know I won't take the assignment and told him of the poor ratings the company has received. He also advised that they no longer have Dynamic scheduling for them and were establishing their own data base of Notaries. He also advise they would be paying very quickly after the signing. I told him the poor rating history goes back pretty far and also are recent. I asked why they would let this go on for such a long time with Dynamic and also, if they now do their own scheduling, why do they have recent poor ratings. The answer was that he would cancel the assignment and get someone else. Personally, I don't believe a word he said.
As far as why a signing company uses a signing company is still a mystery. Never the less, Cogent and Dynamic are birds of a feather.

I did have a bad experience with Dynamic for non payment. 4 1/2 months to get paid. When I sent email to the lender, Cogent was notified. They called me and I explained no payment. The guy from there worked with me and I got my payment in 4 days. He said they were cutting ties with Dynamic and would be scheduling direct with notaries. Have not heard from them since.
