Final Loan Audit
SS wanted me to witness 19 pages of documents. One document to be notarized by seperate acknowledgment; copy of id; pick up check. I specifically asked for an assurance that it was not an application for a loan mod agreement, since I will not do those. SS could not give me assurance so we decided it would be better to find another notary. Could anyone enlighten me on the nature of a "final loan audit"? Did I miss the mark on this?

Are you being hired as a disinterested third party to witness the signature on a document, or the pseudo-professional to ‘close’ (not as in real estate/loan closing…as in sales) a perhaps shaky deal, and pick up the dough?

Seems to me as another way of saying "loan mod application". No HUD in relation to a real estate transactions I can not pick up money. You got it this is a loan mod appl, Run! don't walk way. In Texas, as in many other states, funds up front for "services" in reference to real estate loans is a NO, NO. Notaries have been advised this is something they should not do.

I do not do loan mod apps; even if you call them something else. No how, no way. Don't ask, don't call.
