Good Payment News to Report!

I recently performed a signing for an REO purchase. The loan officer is one of my best local clients, the escrow eminated out of Irvine, because the REO lender has a contract with that escrow company for their REO property sales. I was contacted by MSS (Mobile Signing Service in Ontario). They didn't have a very good SC rating, so I called back to say that while the LO is a good friend and client, I was accepting the assignment only on the condition that I would be paid promptly and not have to chase my fee around the globe.

I accepted the signing and it had to be resigned the very next day due to LOST PACKAGE?? by UPS, which I had nothing to do with. The great news: I was paid in two weeks. I'm updating CS. I hope things improve out there enough where all SS's can pay their notaries in a timely manner. KEEP THE MoJo working!

Great, you got paid quickly. But what about those who don't have you connection? You now are going to post how great this SS is and some other Notary is going to get screwed.
And don't "flame" me, I just pointed out the flaw in you reasoning.

No, I won't flame you, and I will be the first one to update my improved rating of this company if they fail to make payments in a timely manner. By the way, just because I posted my experience, their "star" rating did not change. It takes more than one good deed to change this rating level.

The story I heard about why notaries were not getting paid may or may not be the case, but I'm giving Joy an opportunity to recover and make good with notaries on a go forward basis.

lol...I'll just be the devils advocate here...

How about everyone use Cheryl's name and say that Cheryl (101livescan-not me...lol) will contact her resource if they don't pay us? tee hee

Just teasing Cheryl. Only wanted to acknowledge the point about our own personal experiences being portrayed to the newbie as a safe company. I don't think that is what you said, intended or what you meant. I know you would NEVER put someone in a position that they will not get paid.

You did, consequently, start off by saying they had a low rating in SC. It was obvious, based on what you said, that you had an advantage.

We are responsible to take into account everyone's experience, not just one persons.

Thank you for sharing a positive. There have been quite the negative responses going on here as of late. IMHO of course...

I gave a $25 break on the second signing.

Do you mean you took off $25, or only charged $25 total for second one?

I sure hope things have really improved/changed with this SS

because they paid $$$ and on time a few years ago; however, last year or so they fell behind the eight ball or something. Therefore, I stop accepting assignments.

Nice to hear you got paid Cheryl, but I don't think it helps any of us for future reference. I would bet they paid you to keep you from messing with them further, since you had a bit more clout.
