JMT Docs
Have any recieved this e-mail? Please take a few moments to complete the attach notary update sheet, and return by fax to 800-580-6026 attn Jackie with all important documentation requested, including a copy of your background check, if you are still an active notary in your area. If you are no longer active please advise so we can remove your name from our database file.
JMT's title company is now going to require the notary to be background checked. We will not be able to send another order until we receive an approved background check.
Attached is a Sample NNA background check. If you have had a background check done in the last 6-12 months with NNA and if it looks like the sample, please fax it to 800-580-6026 and we will see if it will be acceptable.
There is also instructions for obtaining the background check from our system if you do not have one already or if the background check you have does not match our sample in this email. Once you have your background check completed please fax it to JMT 800-580-6026 Please note that JMT needs the Full Report not the certificate that is has been completed.
The company we are now using will only charge $20.00 for your background check. Below is the link to register for your background check.

If you decide not to have a background check completed please let us know so we can note your file.
Thank you for choosing JMT Document Services

Did you note the need to faxed copy a NNA background check to see if it is acceptable.
LOL !!!! on both NNA because thier background check seems to be losing it's acceptability and JMT for not accepting at face value the accepted indursty standard that NNA puts itself out to be.
Not meaning to start a firestrom, just what came to my mind when I read this.
In renewing my premium Notary Rotery membership, I will be using thier background check.

Yes I know they are a 4 star rated co here. And I have worked for them but not for a while. They paid my fee and paid. No problems.

A couple of years ago we were notified that if we did not have a smart phone JMT would no longer do business with us. As their pay was so low we could not justify the additional expense.

My Droid pays for itself.
I am able to respond to emails from companies. Many times I get job offers when I am not in my office. It's also a business expense!

FWIW
Boost Mobile provides unlimited texting and email, and you can get it on regular cell phones, not just smart phones. Granted, texting is more cumbersome on a regular cell phone, but it's also cheaper. My Boost account is $55 a month, you can purchase a smart phone if you wish, and most important of all, <there is no contract>.
I hate cell phone contracts. I would rather be sentenced to spending an eternity of Thanksgiving holidays in Newark, NJ with all of my exwives simultaneously than sign another cell phone contract.
For the two years I have had it, I have to say that the Boost service -- and the Boost service representatives -- have been far superior to what I experienced with Cingular and Sprint, my previous carriers.

Thanks for the info
I am closing in on the end of my two year contract with Verizon. I'll have to check out Boost. My three college kids tag on to our cell account for $10 each per month, so not sure if it would be cost beneficial for me to switch right now. But it's something to think about. I don't have a data plan, but I do have my business emails from my Gmail account forwarded as texts to my cell phone.

Yes, I got the email, but I am not responding. They were quite indignant when I wanted more money than $50 for a signing with a 100 mile round trip.

Glenn, did you laugh when they offered that? I wouldn't have been able to help from laughing and and saying that I really appreciate them considering me, but I'll have to pass on that one.
Again, I feel bad for the newbies that don't know any better and would take it.

JMT has had their same fee of $50 since I started this back in 2005. I believe they are another company where the CEO is quite well off with a very extravagant lifestyle.
I at one time, could get them to go to $75 for real close signings, but they havent called me in ages. Guess they found someone else to take the low fee closings for around here.
Their low fees just dont justify their requests for a BGC, IMO.

Who's their CEO? I live in the same town.
I'll check it out, plus, since I've been doing signings, (9+ yrs.) they've never called me. Go figure.
