K2 Settlements / PA Settlements

Any one have any news on this company? I was trying contact this company today and the phone number disconnected and e-mails returned to deliver. I did many closings for them in 2009 and 2008. I guess another title company closed down?

Yes they did close shop. I liked there closings and good pay. Closed last year. There is info if you do a search but I am not sure if many know that they closed. I was sorry to see them go.

Thats a shame Frown They were great to work with and decent pay too. I remember the last request they only wanted to pay $100 and they seemed very stressed out that they could not meet my fee. It seems to be a trend latley.

Just found some orders, Linda Crux. Not sure if she was the owner or Mgr?

I thought she was manager, but I'm not sure. I worked with Eric and Linda. Lately I've been doing what everyone else is doing......making contacts and trying to get business. But those old contacts are either closed up or down sized so small that they keep all the closing in house. Thus, only wanting to pay very low, i.e. $75, or there abouts. I got a call today to drive a total 175 miles and pay toll 3 times and only wanted to pay $100.

I've been offered low-ball assignments, too (some as low as $35 for e-docs with 100 miles of travel in each direction). Usually, I just politely thank them for considering me but tell them that I have other assignments I'm already booked for. I'm not rude or even impolite. There was a time when I used to be. But, with so few orders coming in and more competition than ever, I cannot afford to burn any bridges, anymore.

You don't have to be rude to tell them the truth, gently explaining that the fees they offer are unacceptable. Do you really want to give them the impression that you are OK with their low fees?
