Low Star Agencies Should Be Barred From Rating Notaries

I have a question for members. I recently noticed a notary green bar/red bar system in place for rating notaries. It may have already been there, but I've never seen it before. I don't feel it's right that 1 or 2 star rated agencies should have any credibility to be rating notaries on this site as a means to retaliate for valid complaints of non-payment, poor communications, dead lemon jobs, etc. These kind of agencies are sleazy to go so far as complain about notaries for having valid complaints.

It's clear a signing agent does not rate any agency poorly that pays on time and provides a good communication system to work with. Therefore whenever you see an agency with many complaints it's a sign they have a genuine problem. Some are so low they have the audacity to rate any notary poorly simply for complaining about lack of payment, slow payment, etc. I find this deplorable, like giving Bernie Madoff the ability to strike out against those he ripped-off as if they haven't been through enough. Notary Rotary should not be assisting these agencies it allows on its system as such in my opinion.

I've done about 200 signings now and can honestly say there's only one time I really screwed up a job I didn't get paid for and it that had to do with printing and my trying to cram in too many signings into a four hour period. There is really no valid reason for any agency to rate me low for my services. I accepted responsibility for the problem by not getting paid. I agreed to take the loss without complaint and spoke at length with the title company supervisor.

Therefore I can say with full certainty that these agencies who take advantage of notaries that are abusive and negligent with poor payment practices, are clearly retaliating for any notary who rates them low on Notary Rotary. I feel this intimidation is unjustified and a form of defamation.

Take heed, any agency that rates a notary low on this site better have well documented reason other than retaliation for their poor payment practices, because this low star rating issue is a form of defamation. Notaries are not barred from filing Class Action Lawsuits against any agency that has a long pattern of payment negligence, lying and abuse of notary services.

Also, I think it may be a good idea for notaries to document those agencies that rate them low based on their valid complaints for slow payment, etc and for us to have one person gathering the data to turn over to Notary Rotary. Please let me know what you think and if you'd like to participate in documenting agencies retaliation against you in the notary rating system for your valid issues.

Re: I see the rating option but how do you see who rated you

I saw it in the signing agencies by alpha list where you see their star rating. They give ratings in the right hand side under the title Notary Rating or something to that effect. You may not have any ratings for whatever reason, but scroll down more and you may see them.

Re: Yes, you're rating, oh wait. . .

Does this mean the rating I gave it? Why would they put my rating there, I know what I rated it. I don't need to see what rating I gave the agency. Geez, now I'm really embarrassed. You must admit, it's a little confusing. It looks like I've been rated as a notary as "my rating". I did hear we were rated somehow so I jumped to conclusions.

Yes..I believe it's what the notary rated the

company, not what the company rated the notary...

Oops - End of thread. . Closed

"My rating" listed on the right of the agency information in the alpha directory apparently means what you the signing agent rated the agency. It's a little confusing since it appeared to be a notary rating for the agencies that used my services. I'm sorry for the confusion. I'm relieved a few of these sleazy agencies can't rate us after all, at least not to anyone but themselves.
