NREIS

Received checks dated January 14, 2011 for invoices dated 12/29/2010, 1/6/2011 & 1/11/2011. These checks were received today, April 4, 2011. There is still a balance due of $360.00

I have asked them not to contact me anymore. Low ball fees and waiting forever to get paid. I don't miss the aggravation.

I receive 2 checks from them today. I call about several other orders that I did not get paid for and I was told they mailed out 1100 checks on Friday and are getting caught up. Shannon told me they mailed me a total of 5 checks so this is Good News. # More to go . The new account number is 800-753-3339 X 7132. Good Luck

That is really disgraceful. I'm glad I stopped accepting their signings back when they lowered their fees to $90. I'm not working my way down the ladder of success. So, there are no outstanding NREIS invoices in my drawer.

I'm with you, JulieD. NREIS is a perfect case of when good signing services go bad. They used to pay $100 and you could set your clock by their pay schedule. They were nice to work with and kept me busy. Then they dropped their fee to $90 and I, like you, had to drop them (tho, $90 or less is clearly not a problem for many who post here). Additionally, I've been in this biz way toooo long to deal with SS notorious for paying when they darn well feel like it and than act like paying us for work done is a special perk. Still, I miss the good 'ol days.

It still enrages me when I see their name. It took me almost a year to collect the $1200 they owed me for 2 months of work. They had a track record of years with me, so extending credit for this many signings was not unusual for me. They caused me serious financial grief in 2009, and then to read the owner owns a gold course in Fl, and a castle in Europe while he is expecting us to wait, in my mind is nothing short of criminal, and I do not understand how they are still in business! When they get a new notary, I wonder if they inform them that they have no intention of paying until he makes enough for his yearly bonus. Sickening

Glad you finally got paid, twil4! As to how they are still in business, it's because the people who posted above work(ed) for them - as well as plenty of others, unfortunately! Same reason SOX, etc. stays in business

Check the expiration date of those checks!

If they are no good after 90 days you've got about a week to get them to the bank.

File a complaint with the lender and title company

that they are associating themselves with disingenious companies that are rountinely engaging in potentially fraudulent practices to facilitate their loan closings.

Yep..I agree with this...

No puppy in this fight, thankfully...but what I'd also do...

Make a copy of the invoice (with date of signing), copy of check (when cut), and copy of envelope (showing postmark) - proof they're holding the money...

Re: File a complaint with the lender and title company

I believe it was Trans State Services that posted once advising those not being paid by NREIS to contact the Department of Insurance in your state regarding their nonpayment practices. I sent them an email threatening to do so a while back and was paid a week later.

Re: File a complaint with the lender and title company

There are far too many companies systematically defrauding notaries by hiring then not paying. I believe that the lender and title companies that are hiring these companies need to be put on notice. If they choose to continue to do business then as far as I'm concerned they are setting themselves up for claims. Once they know then ignorance is no longer an excuse.
