National Signing Services, LLC
AKA Mountain States Mortgage Centers, 1333 E 9400 South, Sandy, UT 84093, 435 212 3314. Still can't locate in SC. Closing 12/31/10, rec'd check 3/25/11. Problem: check is not signed. Others receiving this type of check? Can't reach Holly Horsley by phone. Emailed new invoice. Will this take another 3 months? and I thought I had all invoices for 2010 cleared up!

The bank called it to my attention. Didn't go through. Maybe I should try a different teller. Your unsigned check didn't turn out to be rubber?

I'm surprised Shoshana...I think you got lucky
and I think your bank was asleep at the wheel. I don't think my bank would accept an unsigned check for deposit - if they did it would come up in their end-of-day audit/count and I think it would be treated like an NSF check....no credit for it and returned...technically the unsigned check isn't any good.

Re: I'm surprised Shoshana...I think you got lucky
Unsigned checks can't be NSF because they aren't negotiable items without the authorized signature(s).
Your bank shouldn't have accepted it for deposit.
If both of you have received unsigned checks and can make your case to the correct authority, it constitutes fraud from a banking viewpoint. I'd try the local DA and inquire about the problem.
