Are you getting decent fees, Cheryl? I stopped working for them a while back because they lowered their fees to $90 & expected faxbacks at that price. Has that changed?

I would like to know the answer to that also. I refuse to fax back their requirements and not be compensated for it plus the lower fee. I used to absolutely love love love them, till they started with this. Funny thing is that I never ever have to fax back any BOA docs from any other company but New Mill. How does that work?????

Yes, they have always been good but I haven't heard from them in so long...I've called...emailed...haven't had a response so I just wondered if they were still in business.
Thanks.

They are opening additional offices - one in California is now up and running. They are now looking for notaries in areas they have not serviced previously. They do pay well, but you have to tell them what you charge........not accept what someone offers you. You're supposed to be running a business, not cowering in a corner.

Sadly, there will be some notaries out there that will accept the lower fees and do fax backs for free. These are usually newbies who feel that they have to grasp at anything, which just screws it up for those of us who charge normal rates - not to mention enduring the additonal page after page of stupid Notary Instructions (don't wear your bathing suit to a signing, take a bath, don't bring your babies to the signing, bla bla bla.) It ain't like it used to be, that's for sure.

RE: New Millenium Title Group

"Sadly, there will be some notaries out there that will accept the lower fees and do fax backs for free"

About this - something I think *everyone* should keep in mind when companies want those ginormous amounts of faxbacks (investment properties and purchases excluded) - remember to seriously consider payment for faxbacks in your fee:

Had a situation the other day where I had to fax back 1 page before shipping - meeting with the client was near the pack n ship store and the easiest and most economical way was to fax directly from the pack-n-ship store (better than driving 15 miles home, fax, wait for approval, then another 15 miles back out to ship and 15 miles back again - total 45 miles invested in one page)...soooo I faxed right from the pack-n-ship and waited for approval.....cost me $3 and change to fax one page plus cover - $1 for first page, something for second page plus tax...

Now...figure how much those 40-50 page or whole-package faxbacks can cost you at that rate.... and how much you SHOULD be charging for them...may want to seriously reconsider the old "ah, it's only xx pages, no big deal"...

Just something to remember.

Re: RE: New Millenium Title Group

Maybe the third time asking this question will be the charm. Is anyone currently working for New Millennium Title in Maplewood, MN? Is anyone hearing from them with signing requests? If its true that they are opening new branches then maybe they are still viable but I would like to hear from anyone who is currently working for them. Thank you.
