Printing at the Closing Location?

I am filling out paperwork for a company that asks whether I am capable of printing at the closing location...this sounds like a trick question. Aren't they asking whether I am capable of printing at the borrower's home (if the signing takes place at their home)? Isn't that bad?

They are asking you if you have a "mobile office". Use the orange search button and you will find a lot of info.

In busier times, I printed a lot of documents in my vehicle rather than come all the way home. It was also handy for accepting updates or omitted documents on site.

Glenn, you already have the equipment, but for those of us who don't, is now a good time to make that investment? I'm not sure.

Are you sufficiently busy that you're running back and

forth, back and forth, to signings - home to print - to signing - back to print again...

If that's your daily routine then, IMO, yes - it's a good investment and it will pay for itself in the savings on gas and wear & tear on your vehicle (no more driving back and forth)...

Example - in my situation it's not feasible - I have only 1-2 signings/week (yes, week) - I have 3 this week - no running back and forth. It would take forever to recoup the cost of a truly mobile setup. However, that being said, a portable laser MFC would probably be a treat for last minute or revised docs, copies, and any faxbacks....(should note: I almost never have last-minute revisions or faxbacks)...sooo...for me, not in the cards.

Think you have to analyze your own business, how busy you are and how much you're forced to run around - that will tell you if it's really worth it.

Re: Are you sufficiently busy that you're running back and

My experience is similar to yours, Linda. I had considered it at a previous, higher volume time, along with the possibility of doing enotarizations, but because I don't receive enough calls to need to make either investment, I've chosen not to.

Not busy enough in past 3 years although

I still have my printer in my car, however, it has been at LEAST 3 years since I've had to use it. It isn't the cost of the printer that will get you, but the price of a pure sine inverter and the installation. This is not something for Mr. work on my own car to handle, unless he's very experienced with electrical. I went to a car speaker place. Between the cable and the installation it was $200 and ONLY that cheap because I bought and had installed a remote starter at the same time. All told you're probably looking in the neighborhood of close to $1,000! Even at today's prices it takes a long time to use up that much gas.

What brand names and models of printers you would recommend for mobile office use? Thanks!
