I would caution, as a Notary you may be putting yourself in peril:
When part of your fee depends on a sucessful sale. it could be considered that you had an interest in the sucessful sale. You are in this case NOT a disinterested third party, the defination od a Notary.

Yes, I received an e-mail like that but the pay was $150. for a completion and you were considered a part time employee of the company.
I declined and explained that I did not want to be an employee of any company, I want to continue to be an independant contractor.

If you do a search you will find this has been discussed

several times before. It has nothing to do with NSA work, you are entering into a different field, acting as a "representative" for these companies. Several ss are offering this kind of work, because loan signing work is really slow. Many of us won't tough these, and think of them as similar to loan mod. applications. It's sales work, and I think you pick up a check.

Yes, I wrote the last paragraph.
And I stan corredted as I read "Obtain 10-15 signatures" as a indication these would need to be Notarized.
Me read without reading.
Yes I have recieved these before.

In other words you will be the “in person shill” to actually close the deal of the ‘voice-on-the-phone’ made with this desperate sucker. And while they charge 2 to 6 thousand dollars to supposedly get this person a ‘restructured/new/low interest loan’ or to get them out of debt, while actually doing nothing, they are willing to ‘offer’ to pay you as a commissioned Officer of the State, thereby lending credibility to their scheme, a BIG $110! Sounds good to me! But I think I’d get 3 or 4 pre-paid legal services packages before I signe up.

<<<Debt settlement information has already been explained to the client before you arrive........Present a printed slide presentation to the debt settlement client>>>>>

If everything's already been explained to the client *before* the Notary arrives, what's the purpose of the presentation?

Maybe to collect the $350 "retainer" for legal CYA? <just a guess on my part>

So they can say they complied with the FTC

regulations that exempt "face-to-face" sales from the up-front fee ban.

Re: So they can say they complied with the FTC

I did one of these a few weeks ago (maybe 4-6 weeks), because I didn't really know what it was. Don't you know, the guy canceled last week. He actually cc'd me on his email to cancel. I hope this doesn't mean I'm not getting paid...ugh!

Well, here's what their e-mails says, from OP

"You will receive a total of $140 for each successful debt closing. ($110 for meeting with the client, and an additional $30 for a successful debt sales presentation and signing. Total of $140.)"

So sounds to me like if you meet with the client, $110; if client signs, $30....- if this is all of their agreement with no fine print then sounds to me like you should be paid. I know I'd insist on it..providing I didn't agree in writing to something to the contrary.
