Servicelink

I went to an attorney office this morning to do a closing. He asked me if I was there through Servicelink I said no. He told me that Illinois has ordered a cease and desist against them as of late February.
What I foun dis this..Servicelin has never been a registered title agent in illinois for Chgo Title or Security union.

Does anyone know anything about this? I noticed that they were not calling me that much lately and I have two closings this week for Illinois. Should I be concerned?

I think they are not just a TC but also serve as a SS for some companies.

Maybe the cease and desist does not affect the assignments where they are the SS instead of the TC?

Effect on the NSA be danged...

I wonder how many transactions nationwide that may have had title insured issued are really not insured!! They had to pay a $6k penalty in this matter, but imagine that litigated through the country....is IL simply the tip of the iceberg?

Wow...

Re: ROFL..hope they weren't the title company on it...:)

I have been working for Service Link for the last year. I have never had a problem with them and them paying me, that is here in FL anyway. In March I did 22 closings for them. I either get paid for them automatically or I send an invoice to them 1st day of month for the previous month's closings. Depends on the closing order number whether you have to submit an invoice or if it will automatically be paid to you.

I get paid on time also. I work well with the schedulers and closers. This just concerned me today.
This attorney yelled I don't want their closings.

If you read the original post you'll see their payment practices and procedures are not the issue.
