Taxes

I read the post earlier concerning the amount of tax owed by user "famena". I am an accountant and tax preparer who would suggest you ask your accountant to sit down and explain the tax owed. I had a client this year who went to another tax preparer last year and could not understand why she did not get as much tax back this year as she did last year. I showed her the comparison of the tax that had been withheld from her check, and other expenses...she then understood. Last year around June or July, I received new tax tables from the IRS to input into our payroll processing. Yes, the new tax tables resulted in lower taxes being deducted from payroll checks, but the amount of tax owed at the end of the year remained the same. Just another way the govenment tried to convience everyone they were not paying as much tax.

If the accountant can not anwer the questions you have, then you may want to try someone else. Do you mind telling me if the accoutant you used was a local independent or one of the national brands? You don't have to name them.
