US Title Corp ... Sleezy operation

These folks called me last EOM to close a loan. The negotiated fee was $125.00. I contact the borrowers to confirm. The morning of the closing (3/25) I get an email fro US Title stating it has been cancelled. (Keep in mind this is month end and I had turned down another one.) Within 5 minutes I get another email from Nations Closings (or something like that) soliciting the same closing for $70.00. I emailed US Title to question this and she emailed back that it was a mistake...the closing was cancelled. Well, today while cleaning up my desk I run across the order. Out of curiosity I check the ROD website and sure enough, the loan did closing on 3/25 but another notary.

I can't imagine that a signing service is charging less than $125 but apparently they are. No wonder so many can't pay.

I spoke with a scheduler last week who told me there was no shortage of of notaries accepting $80.00 or less to do signings. Says he calls me for high-end loans or when trust Docs are involved because they can pay more but otherwise the "others" are contacted. Fine with me

The Knoxville office.

It's really not about the fee. They get to choose what to offer and I get to choose to accept or not. It's about honesty and integrity. They have neither.
