Who will be attending the NNA in Las Vegas

Who will be attending the NNA in Las Vegas this year?

Not me. I'd love to go to Vegas, but don't have anything to

do with XYZ (the self-promoters). I see they're advertising shows to Blue Man Group. LOL

Not me! I am going with my DH to Cancun!

I decided that the money would be better spent on a fabulous week at an all-inclusive resort with my husband. It's my birthday celebration for the big 6-0.

Anybody ever gone to one of these conferences? I've been to a couple, for previous employers, got tired of all the hooplah.(Nothing to do with NNA or any other notary group.)

As luck would have it, I'm free! - Isn't there a Rule

somewhere that you should never travel to all-inclusive resorts without your trusty Notary who is not a Notario Publico?

Ha! (Oh, I think I'm so funny)

Reserved my room cheaper with my Membership....Reserved for $35 a nite NNA membership offers it for $69

Rooms are often cheaper if you book on your own.

The reason is that if you book through the convention, it often includes the costs of all the perks (free rooms, etc) that the convention organizers get.

Re: Rooms are often cheaper if you book on your own.

$69 is not bad actually ....i've spent waaaaayyyy more for rooms (Conferences,Biz or Pleasure Trips)....but I'm always looking to get more for less. I'm known as the Xross-ref Queen.

Are you a newbie? Is this your first NNA Convention? I went to the 2006 (or was it 2007) in LA because I missed my notary friends from NorCal and SoCal. Had a blast with friends from near and far. I felt that the content was so-so.

I just like to get away....LOL...leave the 4 kids behind, my husband, the dog.....any excuse actually & write the biz expense off. Learning something new is a must for me plus I just love networking!!!.....seriously, I get bored with the same speakers at chapters...so Viva Las Vegas!!

I wouldn't spend a dime at these conventions! What is the point, they are promoting all their schotzky's and wears. Classes are hugely expen$ive, you can do better with NR online. The education on this forum is more than you'll ever get with NNA!

You can meet up with all your friends in San Diego in July at the Luncheon Barbara Linker is organizing...should be a blast and a fraction of the cost. Not only that, don't we all just want to learn more about marketing in this crazy industry, economic conditions being what they are? The NNA agenda is all about garnering fees from new notaries. Most of us are pretty hip!

Actually, I might consider driving there to attend. SD is not too far from Phoenix. Sounds like a great speaker.

I've been to 4 NNA Conferences and had a

blast at each one.
Spent time with Bob from Chicago. Made many friends.
I did learn something new at each conference.
Networking face to face worked for me.
That was it - the 4. (Orlando, San Diego, Philadelphia and San Diego)
The registration has gotten quite expensive. Previously, my employer was picking up the tab for the registration.
In any event, I enjoyed myself and included as many workshops as possible.
