resign
I have a signing service that is insisting that some signed documents were not included in the returned documents I know they were. They want me to go back out on my dime and get them signed. They also want a photocopy of their social security card, which they never requested at the time of the original signing.
No problem - will do. Just wanted to vent!

Always keep a copy of the loan docs til you get paid.
I always do a copy even if they are overnight the package. Then after I signed scan and save till I get paid. It has saved my **** several times when they say that there is a "missing" doc in the loan package.

I'm sorry but are you saying that you scan and save every signed document from every signing?

That's insane. This problem happens rarely, to photocopy or scan signed docs is a waste of time. Most docs are emailed keep a copy on your computer for a period of time so you can verify the docs were/were not there.

we know they were included in the documents. But, of course we have no proof that they were signed

Unfortunately that's a risk we all take. Have you worked for this title company before?

Yes, it is a signing service. Not a title company and we will go back out. It is just infuriating

I completely understand. You know you sent them (what would you do with them? eat'em?) I wouldn't deal with them again, makes me feel they are not honest. The title office must be disorganized and putting the blame on you.

You can call it insane, but papers get in to to many hands after we sign them and so many things can happen to them and they always blame it on the notary. Coffee spill on them, misplaced, etc.
Hey just call the notary and have him sign another loose ack, or have them sign another one of this and just let him know that it was missing in the original docs. And some times they want the shipping on us for their mistakes?

Okay…What are the ‘documents’? Did they get them back partially signed? Incorrectly signed/notarized? Or not at all? Did you actually GET the docs in question? Did you send them back to the SS? Or, to the Title Co? How did you get them? Overnight, e-mail, download from the SS or Title site? Do you have a copy? Sounds like Title lost something and complained to the SS. The SS usually never even sees the docs. Just part of the job, but If I didn’t actually ‘get’ the docs in question I wouldn’t fix it for free. JMO

When id other than what was originally requested is asked for AFTER the fact, I just tell whoever wants it to call the borrower and have them fax a copy of the id to them. I also bet the documents that they weren't signed, were but title or whoever has misplaced them or ruined them in some way so they make it look like " the notary didn't do her/his job". Insane!!!!!!

I count the pgs, whether o-nited or emailed & place a
Post-it note w/ # of pgs signed/ initialed by myself & the BO. I count the o-nites as soon as I get them & after BO signs them. Never allow that binder clip to come off during signing (I've had BO's who want to take clip off & pass the pages to each other - I firmly state why clip must remain ON) Make a copy & staple to the confirm. Otherwise, the notary gets thrown under the bus
