A new one on me

Reverse mortgage signing Friday. Did all the notarizing. Entered everything in the journal. It’s EOM, so I’m pushed, but I double-checked; everything signed correctly. Got package off in time for delivery Monday. Something kept nagging at me, though. Finally, Sunday I pulled up the documents and looked at each one holistically – and I found it.

The Correction Agreement – Limited Power of Attorney named <me> as the AIF.

Emailed the title company. Was told that’s what they intended to do, in the event I needed to make corrections at the table. They were not at all concerned that I notarized a document in which I had a direct interest.

So, in attempting to cover their ass, they left mine totally bare, and still wound up with an invalid document.

Years ago...don't remember who...I was designated on some doc as being the TC.

So what does one do when something like that occurs. You didn't have any input for the docs, but you're named in a doc that will be invalidated because of your notarial role. Will you have to go back out to resign that particular form?
