Completed my first TEA Assignment
Easiest $35 I ever made.
Printed 5 pages; met the client (it was only 3 miles away from my office); spent 10 minutes; notarized 1 signature; faxed it back; done.

Not true, Mike...this high and mighty questioned the
profit in a $40 HELOC signing - BIG difference.

I outlined it.. so some extra paper and toner and a few minutes more for 40 bucks cant make money?

For signings, that is true
This was 5 pages, and a total of 20 minutes out of my day. Worth every penny.

How long did it take from the time you took the NNA course and were certified to the time you got this first assignment?
Just curious, because I've read that this whole TEA thing was not really worth the effort.

Actually, I have received a steady stream of job offers
but have turned them down because, even though they are in the same city, it could easily take 45 minutes to get from my location to the job location. Having a 9 to 5 job it is usually impossible to take this amount of time out of my workday - and these facilities are only open during normal business hours. This one happened to be a government electronics facility 10 minutes away, so I jumped on it.
I would imagine that in a larger city you are much more likely to get offers. Those in rural communities would probably never get a job offer. It will take several assignments to recoup the cost from the training but if I get several more at the same facility (and I have a feeling I will), the money could quickly add up.

Re: Actually, I have received a steady stream of job offers
Well, some rural areas are actually pretty busy with this stuff... mine is one of them, considering my little community is right near a major AFB.
I haven't finished the training yet... but have been asked to a lot. I'm still debating it.

I think it would be worth it, Marian
Especially because you live near the AFB. We have a major AFB in Tampa but it is on the other end of town from where I live; however, the assignment I had today was at an electronics facility associated with Department of Defense. Heavy duty security just to get in to the library. I literally had to show proof of U.S. citizenship (and luckily, I have a passport card that I carry with me).
I think it could be lucrative for you, Marian - since you have been asked.

Re: I think it would be worth it, Marian
I'll log back in and see about finishing it. I just get sleepy when I read the NNA's stuff. The only reason I'm still a member is because my membership was paid for by somebody else... and it does bring me work. Not so much loan work anymore, but other stuff. I actually get a lot of people wanting a virtual assistant because of my NNA membership, which I find really weird.
Yeah, out where I am, just about everyone works for the government or private government contractors. You can't escape it.

10 minutes close to home for $35 I'd do it all day long.
